I still don't see the point. There are far more efficient magical defenses, and ones that don't risk infecting your own side with diseases.

Why would anyone avoid someone who is so joyful about corpses? You are correct, that is a complete mystery.
Someone from our world disappeared as well. I was hoping for some details to cross reference.
