And in the old days, before a period we call the Dark Times, there was a whole structure with trials and knighthood given to you by a council.
These days it's more sort of attained through service. But there's only a few hundred of us in the galaxy, so lot more 'hands on' training than the old days.

I can imagine the transistion to direct and practical action was a difficult period. Certainly, I can believe it was a tough adjustment period. But I suppose that's less of a problem in your day and age?

These days there's at best a couple hundred of us if you include trainees - so finding practical missions means we're more spoiled for choice. Everybody needs help, and we are very few to do it.
