CHIRPER

⏵ CHIRPER ⏴
Welcome to our bi-monthly CHIRPER post!

There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:
  • Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
  • When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya!
  • Other characters can be prompted to fill out their friends' profiles for them. This includes the Q&A section!
  • Alternatively, they choose not to fill out the form, and it remains unfilled! These unfilled profiles will not be posted live.
  • Characters either like or dislike others CHIRPER profiles. These responses are private between the characters involved.

For those who do post a top level, CHIRPER toplevels are worth five extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These five extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.

Please feel free to switch out any of the Q&A questions with those listed here! We have an example of a filled out form here.

[ Uh-huh... Harold is actually smiling just a little at his device. College had been incredibly important to him at that age -- completely life-changing. ]

Why would it only be hopefully? What field would you like to pursue?

It's just... a complicated situation in my world.

The easiest way to say it is that all record of my existence vanished, so I technically don't have record of anything I did before the age of 18.

Was super interested in biochemistry, though.

[ That evaporates his smile completely. He reads the message a second time before responding. ]

I'm sure it's not the same situation, but I have some familiarity with legally being a non-entity. I think in such a circumstance creating a record for yourself would be entirely appropriate.

[ Is Harold suggesting he should hack into various institutions and create legal fiction? Yes, absolutely. He'd do it for Peter in a heartbeat if he could -- one whole identity, birth record and transcripts and probably a full scholarship on top. He misses the days when he used to get to do that kind of thing for people.

Preferably anonymously, of course. Harold is generous but hates attention. ]

Creating a record... That's not the worst idea.

Though I gotta ask, if you can talk about it: legally being a non-entity, huh?

Harold Finch never existed in the first place.

Identity is a fiction you can write yourself. Though I wouldn't suggest giving yourself a transcript you can't back up in college, of course.

Identity as fiction? I don't know...

But. Even if I do fudge some documents, I still want it to be true.
I want to be able to prove myself, I guess. That I'm what I say I am.
As long as I can do that, I'd be happy.

Sometimes all you need is a chance, and if the world won't give it to you, then you make it for yourself.

I wouldn't blame you in the slightest, Mr. Parker.
