I am most certainly not from a modern world. We don’t even have electricity where I am from. By ‘modern day’ I meant times like Earth and later.
Music where I’m from is generally sung by traveling bards but we also have a device called the Orchestron that can play rolls of music. Think of it like a record player or a jukebox if you know what either of those are, just a different format. Music from the Orchestron tends to be solely instrumental.
