[Likewise! He scrambles to see Xingchen's worried face.]

You're safe? Are you sure? I'm... I'm on my way!

[ Xingchen tries for a reassuring smile, but suspects it's still a little...thin. ]

Come see for yourself.

[...what... What does that mean? He runs as much as he can until he finds the other man.]

Xi...Xingchen? A-Chen? What's happening?

[ He shouldn't feel better when he hears the familiar scampering feet. But he does. Xingchen finds himself reaching out, instinctively just...expecting Xue Yang to pounce and cling to him. ]

I'm fine, A-Yang. But what happened to upset you, to make you think I was being taken from you?

[Nothing can stop him from doing just that! Upon seeing Xingchen in one piece, Xue Yang scoops the other man into his arms and nuzzles him worriedly.]

We're being tested again. Every time that happens, I fear the worst.

[ He curls his arms protectively around the other man, settling in those familiar arms and resting their heads together. The nuzzling brings a smile to his lips and he pets over Xue Yang's hair. ]

Any time you get worried, come find me. I'll help.

[His frown softens. He can't help it. Xiao Xingchen is so damn adorable and soft. Xue Yang cards his fingers through the other man's hair and listens to his voice.]

Daozhang, they can torture me and kill me. As long as they don't take you away, I'm fine.

[ His blood seems to freeze at the thought of his A-Yang being tortured or killed and his hold tightens. ]

You've been hurt too much already. I don't want anything more to happen.

[ Xingchen would rather be tortured instead! ]

[Xue Yang kisses Xingchen's temple and then his cheek, unwilling to let go or step back.]

I'm looking for someone to help you. If I can get your eyes returned to you somehow, that will be all we need from this place. We can look for somewhere better after that.

[ Xingchen...takes a breath, then dares to be bold and turns his face to claim a soft kiss, heart racing at learning that plan. If he could see again, then he can be more helpful. Xue Yang might not worry so much about him. ]

Thank you. We'll find a way. Then we'll find somewhere. Until then, we should try to help other people trapped here, as best we can.

[Oh! His heart leaps and he returns the pressure softly. The hand that cups Xingchen's cheek shakes and Xue Yang touches their foreheads together.]

I... [He doesn't give a damn about the others. Except maybe that heavenly demon and the drunk dying guy. He's not sure if Aang or that girl he met are still around.]

Don't risk yourself for anyone. Leave it to me.

[ He sighs quietly, leaning comfortably against the other man. Nudging their noses together, a faint frown tugs at his lips. ]

I would rather you be just as careful.
