Network Features (text | un: finch)
Please complete the below survey regarding possible enhancements to our communication devices and network system. I will be working with Aurora to make these upgrades.
I may or may not respond to comments. Thank you.
Edit: Additional features being considered based on feedback that were not in the poll include: (1) ease of use features for those less familiar with technology, (2) Wikipedia or an equivalent, (3) banning specific users from personal posts or communications.
Edit 2: Adding (4) storage and sharing for image, audio and video files, primarily for entertainment or educational purposes and (5) expansion of the library to include digital lending of those materials.

And I remain unconvinced it's possible to work outside of her purview regardless of her direct involvement.

As for your poll: before casting a vote, I have a few questions.

Go on; I don't mind answering.

First: a "phone" is a device that lets people talk to each other, correct? [ She's seen that in movies! Whoo! ] Is that not what this earpiece we have already does?
Second: if Aurora is involved, do you think she'd even let you make something that she cannot access? She still answers to Echo.
Third: What is "social media"?

Thank you for explaining.
I'm not sure I see the use of these features, to be honest. It would just make this device even more confusing to me than it already is.

[ For the record, she means voice messages. She can't quite tell the difference between that and a voice command unless it is explained to her. ]

Though perhaps you're looking for more of an instructional guide?
no subject
Yes, that would be very useful, actually.

[ And assume there's some step by step instructions here. Someone has definitely written user guides before. ]
Where I'm from we term this sort of thing "computer literacy" to reflect that it's a learned skill that requires teaching and exposure, much like reading. It seems quite appropriate for the helper bots to be programmed to teach computer literacy. I'll pass along the suggestion.

Those look really helpful! Thank you so much!
You know what, that would be great as well. I know there must be others who aren't used to this stuff at all.
no subject
That does appear to be the case -- yours was far from the only response indicating that. It should be a relatively straightforward request.
no subject
One would think that would be doable, yes.

I hadn't realized there were quite so many people here who are unused to technology of this sort. May I ask where you're from?
no subject
I'm from Edo, Japan. As I understand it, at least some of the technology found in Etraya will be invented in my homeworld, or worlds similar to it, in a few centuries.

That's quite some time ago for me. I will say it is a known period in my Earth's past.
This must be very disorienting for you. [ It puts his difficulty adjusting into perspective, that's for sure. At least he'd conceptually believed this sort of thing was possible. ]
no subject
Well, I could go on and on about that, but I'll spare you. But if you could work out something with Aurora about providing instructions for using the technology, I'd be grateful.

[ Yes, he also looked up Japanese names to confirm "Rin" is typically female. ]
I'll pass that along. Thank you for your feedback and your patience.

The missions and the fact that we're supposedly here to save our worlds are worse, but not understanding the technology makes it so much harder.
Thank you, likewise.

I understand. Thank you again.
