[In a strange way, it's a little like a relief. That, at least, is something he can't understand or relate to anything else at all.

Even if the notion is profoundly unsettling in a different way. He'd talked to John about how a person would go mad if they were aware of the 119 deaths that occur every minute on average. Does Castiel feel it, every time a person dies? Does he bear their pain, or is it more like little lights burning out among millions, ultimately irrelevant due to the millions flickering on at the same time?

For all Dazai might feel he lacks the qualifications to be a proper human being, he can only be what he is, in the end.]
