Though the snow and creature-rearing has kept us busy and indoors these past weeks, there is no reason we cannot get to know one another. Afterall, must we wait until spring to match-make? So much idle time, so much plentiful food… I think we should all become better acquainted.

Qualities… Well. There are many qualities that make a good wife. A resourceful cook to make do with what we can find and hunt in lean times. A keen fire-tender. Fertile, preferably, though that is difficult to know beforehand with a never-married woman.

I do not understand what you mean by date. Do you mean a period of courtship? I am not bound by the social laws of the men of the south- there is no need for me to marry before we get to know one another.

Come now, don’t some things go without saying? Everyone wants for a kind and pretty wife- if not a pretty wife, then a handsome and sturdy wife. Perhaps a clever wife, or a wise one. Everyone has some good qualities, ja?

Courtship is another word for dating, yes. I would suggest a courtship as well. Those can be the most fun.

That's definitely not true. Some men want a woman to step on them. I've always found having a good connection and someone to be able to talk to is the most important. Someone who will argue with you and challenge you to be better.
