It may only be that they object to being the ones to arm us. I arrived here with two sidearms and both are functional, so it doesn't seem that they have an issue with the concept entirely.

If my read of the situation is correct, there are people here with powers that rival or even outstrip those of an average bomb anyway, so I'm not sure it would matter at that point.
