Hey. What's everyone found out about the mission?

Do we want to share what jobs we have and if we need anything? I'm working engineering in Sprawl. How are people in Dreg? I heard it's bad?

How is the Sprawl? It seems busy but not as

grueling as the Dregs

lot of busy work. fix this, fix that. we get our own rooms but they're small. but i know the dregs have to sleep together

we don't try to annoy each other and no one tries to hassle us

Train never gets a break and neither does engineering? That must be a huge department in the Sprawl. Although...

probably more mundane than I'm imagining

from what i've seen, we fix electrical and mechanical issues and check that everything is still working. report on everything. repair equipment that's been in the backlog. we can request people from dregs if we need extra hands

it was a lot of bathroom repairs in the log books i read

water and waste management in a place like this is

pretty vital. figures they'd want any complaints about those systems covered as soon as possible

but they keep records of repairs done? how far back have you seen? anything really big go down?

i got some over the last few years but nothing interesting was in them. i was looking for anything that stuck out but nothing did. no keywords or big problems

no one here messes with the engine. the head engineer is a guy called odin and i don't know if his logs would be different

That's a good hunch, Gorgug, he might have some different entries than the rest. Are his logs private?

and i don't know. we might have to break into his work space. i don't know how everything functions in the neon area but i can ask around and see who works in that section and we can figure something out?

And I think that would be a good lead. Hopefully we can get out before the Dregs really start rumbling.

There's something that plays every once in a while. It woke me up a few times, and I stayed up to listen for it one rest period. I didn't catch too much--some numbers, and something about apples. Do they even have apples here?

apples? i don't know. i can ask someone in elite or neon?

what does it say about the apples?

If you could check, that would be great. We don't get fruit regularly down here.

I could just make out the word. And the numbers. Everything playing before and after was static. And at some point it would turn off.

they could be some kind of codeword for an error? i haven't seen anything about that in the logs, but i've just been reading what people write for errors day to day

this could be something else. something older?

This would be an error that's been running a long time, from the state of the recording. And the rest of the train seems unconcerned about fixing it, which seems impractical. If not dangerous. Just to confirm, broadcasts of random-seeming words and numbers aren't playing further up? It's centered down here?

I could ask the others in my cleaning crew if it's something they've heard before, as well. They're all native Dregs.

i haven't heard anything in sprawl. i can ask people in neon but there's no way a broadcast would be around elite and i wouldn't know about it. i have a friend there who likes mysteries

finding out anything we can would be good. if no one knows what it means then it couldn't hurt to check it out. it's not like we've got a lot to go by
