Hey. What's everyone found out about the mission?

Do we want to share what jobs we have and if we need anything? I'm working engineering in Sprawl. How are people in Dreg? I heard it's bad?

it would be good to talk to him about it, yeah
i was following the curriculum pretty closely even if i had some room to make choices and now then
but it was pretty strict

now i'm not following anything and it's not as freeing as i thought it would be since i have the continuing existence of my world to think about

[ But Fabian doesn't have to think about this when it comes to being a bard or fighter, right? Does Fabian think about this kind of thing at all? Dancing is still... dancing.

A small part of him wants to ask if being here makes Fabian question his abilities and capabilities at all, but it's hard to know how to frame it. Maybe he doesn't understand bard dancing enough....... ]

well that's why i was saying much earlier on that we shouldn't think about school right now

[ Though he has let Gorgug do so anyway without really repeating it ever since that very, very early talk.. Fabian thought that maybe Gorgug just needed a distraction to cope, or something like that.

Who even knows why it had to be school. Fabian wasn't going to think about it too hard! Or question it! But is it turning out now that Gorgug has just been extra stressing himself out this entire time? ]

i feel like we have enough other stuff to worry about right now
even this dumb train situation being added on top of it all is TOO MUCH ALREADY

[ Does it count as thinking about school? Well, sure, he is thinking about school, but not in a way where he's worrying about not passing (the end of their universe puts a damper on that).

But Fabian's telling him not to worry about it, and that they have to focus, which is true. They have a mission. They want to complete the mission. ]

[ Exactly the things he knows Fabian wants to hear!! ]

[ If this was in person - and he wasn't feeling so incredibly overworked - Fabian likely would have caught on.

But over text? He doesn't really see anything all that weird about those words. It's why he replies with: ]

[ Look, reward systems work great for Fabian, okay. His desire to find this king is solely fueled by his desire to hang out more with his friends again. And boyfriend cuddles. ]

It takes Gorgug a minute, but: ]

i want to eat ice cream covered in marshmallows and sauce with you and riz on a couch and we're sharing a blanket

[ He has simple desires. ]

But.. you know what, that's okay, actually. It's something Fabian can easily make happen. The only difficult thing between this and that end result is getting off this damn train, honestly. ]

[ He's teasing Gorgug. Just a little bit.

Who knows if that's going to land though, considering it is Gorgug, and this is text with no tone indicator whatsoever.. ]

[ Truly, it doesn't land... but Gorgug is happy thinking about it, if just for now. It's a nice thought to have while on the train, trying to figure out a mystery that-- he's definitely not the person to be figuring it. ]

[ Just like on TV, Fabian! ]

[ Come on, Gorgug. It's so hard to tease you when you're being so utterly sincere about all this! You'll make Fabian feel like a bad guy!

On the other hand, he is kind of glad that Gorgug probably feels more content talking about this than about all the dumb train stuff that Fabian could ramble on and vent about for three hours on end. ]

[ Wow, is it his birthday?? Unless this is actually a test where he needs to say the right thing eventually, or Fabian gets mad. The thought does cross Gorgug's mind, but the two might actually line up: what Fabian wants, and what Gorgug wants. ]

[ One of the good points in Gorgug's job is that he gets generally left alone, as long as he puts his head down and produces results. But the grind continues... ]
