[ In line with the ongoing events here. More or less. ]

[ Queue a video feed. There was probably a bit of audio, the typical noises of someone figuring out a new system and trying to find the video button. ...Aha! There is Gaia, sitting on one of the trolley cars. Behind her, mostly in frame, is Cidolfus Telemon. He probably looks okay. But Gaia's words suggest he's not. ]

I hope this is right. I'm on the blue line trolley between... the Farway stop and the next island. A man named Cid just jumped on after burning his aether to a life threatening level. Because he missed it while picking up something at a place called the Kwik Stop.

I don't have healing spells, so I'd appreciate anyone that can catch up to the trolley who might come and look him over. It's not exactly fast.

Well, if anyone's looking for him and worried, he's here.

[ She sounds more than a little bit worried exasperated. ]

[ There's certainly a lot to unwrap here. But this hands free network device sure is handy for letting the teen place her hands on her hips and give him the absolute best of teenage accusatory regards. ]

I may not know you but I do know your type. Also, may I clearly state your friend Barnabas just told me that was probably beer you went through all this for? Alcohol? And you don't think it's perfectly reasonable to think that you might be the last person I'd trust to state your actual health?

[ That's right, Barnabas, Cid. You're friends in her book. ]

Don't think I haven't heard you and that other fellow chattin' it up. I have a name which I did give you. It's not 'girl' or 'girlie' or 'lass'. It's Gaia.

[ Unfortunately, Vander isn't here to share in the pain of being viciously corrected. ]

Aye, alright. Gaia. [He puts his hands up and chuckles. He wasn’t being particularly secretive about his chit-chats.]

Come now. People have died for less than this. Of course it’s beer. I was making a beer run-

[Cid does not bother correcting her about ‘his friend Barnabas’. ]

What are you going to do? Move in with me and make me quit drinking and smoking? Like I haven’t heard all that before.

[ Well of COURSE.... she hadn't thought that far ahead. This earns a bit of a frustrated look. Slightly different than the earlier glare if only because Gaia doesn't hold it so long. ]

Don't be silly. I barely know you. [ Gaia crosses her arms, looking to stand firm. ] But at least have the common sense you should have been born with. Are you trying to burn your way to an early death? Because it's an absolute waste if so.

[ There's a bit of weariness creeping in. Gaia is losing momentum on this and calming down from whatever adrenaline had pushed her this far. Or maybe it's just that she's getting angry at herself. Whatever the case, she's certainly becoming less... well, tactful as she begins to wind down. ]

[Cid laughs dryly at all that. He’d heard it before, and he’d already learned how to deflect it. ]

I’m afraid it’s a little late for all that concern.

[… But how did she know this was burning his life force? What did she know about this?]

And what about you? You pull out your magic like it’s nothing. …Not that it seems like you have a terribly limited pool of it.

[ To which Gaia has a very tart reply. ]

You're still alive now aren't you? What makes that too late?

[ There's going to be some more... we'll call it plotting. Is that Barnabas she's talking to? Yup. And some young person who promises to show up with a van and then yup there's Vander making his remarks and her promise to give up once he's agreed to be checked over.

Now that only leaves Cid's question. Which was certainly not ignored, given the sharp look of alarm Gaia tosses over her shoulder with realization that she might have... well, gave herself away too much. But also it's not something she's going to answer on an open network for everyone to hear.

So blip. Off goes the video feed after she finishes signing off with a person or three she might be making arrangements for. Then she gets to focusing on an answer. ]

Of course it's not nothing. I just... pulled out a hammer you know?

[ ...Arguably with creation magic but you know. Nuance. Gaia is aware she has a pretty vast well of aether compared to the 'average person' of her world. But she also knows that even among great manipulators of aether, everyone has a certain limit to what they can spare. ]

Whatever you did just... pushed you past your reserves. Clearly.

I saw that you pulled out a hammer. That much is far more interesting than whatever you think is going on with me.

[He chuckles and shakes his head- attempting to deescalate all of this somehow.]

This is all a bit dramatic, don’t you think? I just want a bottle of beer, a snack, and a nap. I’ll be right as rain.

I did that because I thought you were being chased by something that was nearly on par with a Primal.

[ Of course she's going to react to defend herself! You know. Whatever a primal is. ]

And it turned out that was probably you. I hardly think it's fair to suggest I reacted unreasonably.

[ She narrows her eyes. ]

Well, I've arranged with someone to come meet you at the next stop. If they look you over and say you're alright, you can go and have as much beer and snacks as you please. Maybe they'll give you a ride back in that 'van' of theirs.

[ Look at how easy it'll be to get rid of her! ]

What- Oh, come on.

[Cid drops his head into his hand and tries to rub the impending headache away.]

Well, who is it? And I hope you don’t mean the very next stop. It’s Snake Island.

[hammerbearer]

[ She seems firm. You get rid of her if you get checked over Cid. And that headache probably! ]

Their user name was 'gorgug'. I don't know if that helps much. And of course I mean the Dewpoint stop. I'm not an idiot.

[ Does she add 'like someone in this trolley'? No. But it sort of hangs in the air. ]

Gorgug- That’s just the man’s name. I know him, we built a car together.

[He looks at her about the Not an idiot part. No, she wasn’t an idiot- new, certainly. ]

Why are you looking at me like that?

Well then it's good you know each other.

[ Hands on hips, Gaia is satisfied she's won this battle. ]

Just making sure you aren't hiding anything.

[ Clearly not because she's comparing her levels common sense to what Cid's seem to be. In any case there won't be much more fuss until they arrive at the first stop past Snake Island ]
