Yeah, wow, I really don’t think anyone is learning anything here… like, school-wise. ( they say you don’t notices the pitfalls of parenthood until you have inter-dimensional alien children of your own… )

Oh. [Huh.] Where I was before, I don't think anyone studied that sort of thing unless they were going to be scientists...or helping the scientists, maybe.

Who are the scientists? How big is science to you guys?

The scientists were people who did research on...well, science things. I don't know very much about it, but a lot of them researched genetic mutations and wildlife and technology and things. They were um...very big? About as important as the military, from what I could tell.

[But back to the original subject—]

I got to teach the children for a while, before; most of them only go to school until they're six years old, and the classes were focused mainly on language and math.

Some get to keep studying, but those who don't do well enough on the tests get put into military training or sent out to get adopted by people in the outer city. At least that's what I was told, before the city was destroyed...I'm not sure what they do now.
