Looks like the birds found your little post.

I don't know about where you're from, but surly children are common where I'm from, for lots of reasons. Including yours, but most of the ones I know tend to hit back if you try.

I know, and they’re pecking it to pieces. Shame. Say, are robins a fearsome bird where you’re from?

I call them children, but they’re men, really. Old enough to join an order of knights or worth the risk to passing mercenaries to take you in. They’re old enough to fight, they’re just small. Malnutrition is common enough, but they might have a couple years to get ahead here.
