[ Thanks to this conversation, Sevika is now here to remind everyone, ]

You all remember we had that big, ominous sign outside Etraya's bubble telling us we weren't alone, right?

[ Please. She cannot be the only one concerned about this. ]

Well, those tallies are done tallying, and we were out of days on that thing a while ago. Has anyone noticed anything strange? Anything different? Because that message wasn't friendly-sounding, and I don't feel like being surprised by a pack of hostile unknowns.

So this Connor guy came here to steal Aurora's power... core?

Even if he was stopped, he must know something about this other entity.

[Which is undoubtedly lying by omission. Like, ninety percent omission there.

And people deserve to know about the narrowly avoided danger here. Hank has felt that this whole damn time, burdened by the guilt of knowledge. But Connor is... Connor.]

Connor’s the one who put the thing back, anyway.

[ She's trying to put this together in her head, and yet? ]

Alright. Then it sounds like I should get the story from this Connor guy directly.

[ Hank, you gave her a name to doggedly hunt down. 'Nah' is no longer an option. ]

You put him out here like this and then try to keep him from talking to the rest of us; that's only going to make it worse when someone does track him down.

He shot a bunch of people, yeah?

[People who may or may not come forward and confess their part in all this. Who might not readily admit that Connor didn’t do any of this — any of it — by choice.]

Give him some time. The guy’s traumatized.

[Hank almost wishes he did lie, but he has no idea what all the people from Solmara are up to. What they’re planning. Why would they go along with Hank’s lie, anyway, after Connor shot them all?]

He has until I'm done questioning Aurora.

[ If she answers... ]

I'd rather have a meeting we all agree to, but avoiding one isn't an option. These are our worlds on the line, Hank. That's more than one man.

[That gives Hank some time to think, at least. Because he knows this is bigger than him. Bigger than Connor.

But Hank has already lost so much. Connor has lost so much.]

[Hank knows, too, that he can’t protect Connor alone. Neither can everyone from Solmara.]

Connor’s a good person. Really. None of this is his fault.

When you talk to him, try to remember that. Please. Not bullshitting you here.

[Not that Hank expects to be trusted but that, at least, is the truth.]

[ She's busy swapping between this and Aurora now, so she drops voice chat to text to hide any thoughts she might broadcast sheerly by tone alone. ]

It doesn't have to just be me.

[ ...because this is Sevika and she won't care that Connor's a good person. Hank may want to elect a few Good Cops. ]

[Even if that “one guy” is Connor.]

[Which will hopefully make more sense when they talk. Whenever that might be.

[ And it's easier to throw all the others involved under the bus is Hank is out here fessing up on Connor's behalf first, isn't it? ]

He can explain that himself. Look, I'm offering to let you have people you trust in the room. People who've been in Etraya a while. I would suggest taking it.

[As if there are many people on Etraya that Hank even trusts.]

I’m sure he’ll answer all your questions. Now that he can.

We'll see. In any case, you're in luck. Aurora seems to be fine.

[And that doesn’t clear the whole Solmara threat, no, but Hank never had any doubt that Aurora was fine.

Not that he considered her safety, really. Didn’t put too much thought into it. But her thingy was put back, so why worry? Especially when Connor was right there and suffering.]

[ There's a direct message sent to Hank's inbox, seeing as he's talking to Sevika too- ]

hey hank. connor just shaken up? i saw your talk with sv. i'd be willing to come and be there with you and connor. make sure things don't get out of hand. i can protect you and connor

i saw he isn't feeling too good. but the sooner we figure out if there's anything else going on and if we can keep people from seeing the network post and getting their own ideas about what to do. and seeing that things don't escalate on the other side.

It’s hard to explain.

[And Hank didn’t want to talk about this detail in particular, because it’s... Connor. But it’s relevant in proving his innocence. Which everyone will see once they speak with him, Hank is sure.

And Gorgug likes robots, right? Maybe he’ll get it.]

Androids where me and Connor are from weren’t designed with free will. But I pushed him real hard, and he got there. To that point.

He’s taking all these new emotions and feelings stuff hard. I can’t even imagine how he’s feeling but it’s a whole fucking lot.

Everyone deserves to know about whatever the fuck is going on. I know that.

Or his choice.

[ Gorgug doesn't understand it completely, but he can make a few wagers. That Connor was trapped from acting as he wanted to, a program, but now he's more free to act-- or to feel.

But what's more obvious is that Hank is scared. For Connor, and that, Gorgug can feel for. ]

I promise I won't hurt Connor. I won't let anyone touch him.

Do you want me to come over first? I told SV I know you. I'll give you both some time. I won't pressure Connor, but I can guess the questions they'll ask. What he'll need to think about. Try and give you two room from everyone else.
