PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello Etraya, a few of the newest arrivals are originally from wherever we told you we're from, but before coming here we were in Etraya's sister city, Solmara. Solmara has overthrown their AI and is ruled by a woman named Alrys. She sent us here on a recon mission to steal supplies, and while some of us were considering it, upon arrival we decided not to.

I can't speak for the others, but I know for a fact if Alrys got wind of what this place is like, she'd start a war. I'm not interested, not because I'm kind and noble (I'm not) but because making two whole cities miserable would be stupid.

Aurora has been informed of everything, but in the interest of transparency I'm letting the rest of you know too.

We will be answering questions but only if they're not stupid and you're super nice about it. Keep in mind we're probably gonna get tortured then killed then tortured again for snitching. 😃❤️🥳👍🚀🦈

PS: Any magical healers out there?

Oh, that's one reason to start a war.

I've known them to be started for other things though. Greed is common, yes, but also love. A sense of justice or conviction, that one is doing the 'right' thing by attacking another nation. And that's just scratching the surface, really.

But if Alrys wants something from us: What is it?

Maybe I'm just overestimating her ambitions.

She doesn't know anything about Etraya other than it exists. Her ambitions are not at play at the moment because she doesn't know what's there to take.

I know she'd start a war because she loves power, but she'll only start one once she finds out what this place is like, if she does. I'm rooting for Team Murder Alrys, but they have to consider logistics.

[ So, if she did find out... Don't mind him, just taking mental notes. He's also wondering about logistics, but in a much different way. (Like: Is Alrys looking for a new bestie? Here's his resume in being chancellor of a dictatorship, call him xoxo.) ]

I suppose the smart thing would be to eradicate the threat before it actually becomes one.

It would be tricky to remain unknown though if attempting a political assassination. Which is why it can't be just an attempt.

I don't know much about politics, but I imagine if she got taken out then the power vacuum would make the rest of them turn inwards and they wouldn't care about sister cities, at least for a while.

But that's assuming an assassination is even possible. We don't even know how she sent us here.

Possibly. Or someone more altruistic-appearing might seek justice and vengeance for their fallen leader, targeting whoever could be responsible to be the 'hero' of the people.

It is all hypotheticals though until we know more. A lot of ways it could go, a lot of possibilities to speculate. I'll be interested to see what happens.
