of course, but you'll be happy to know apparently people are lining up to offer the same to me. it's pretty nice actually.
also thanks, you've already done a lot for me, the gun came in handy.

Oh dear. I hope you're all right. And that no one else was too injured, either...?
[ It's probably pretty obvious why Harold doesn't want to have a gun himself: he's not sure he can convince himself to fire it at anyone. ]

if there was anything she learned from the mission and those who were kind enough to help her during it, it was better to be honest then keep things bottled in. )
no, they mostly made us fight memories from the past. It felt real though, and considering we were fighting to avoid disappearing, well it mostly gave me an upper hand in terms of points.

[ Fighting memories, good lord. Harold is doubly glad he'd missed it, especially if it would've included his more recent memories from home. That's the last thing he needs -- reliving those moments. ]
Well, I'm glad you came through it. And that you didn't have to shoot anyone real. Could I interest you in watching a movie soon as a break? I'm setting up a viewing room in the library for the DVD collection and thought you might be interested.
[ It's a bit of an abrupt segue, but Harold isn't going to miss a chance to make Accelerator get some age-appropriate friends. ]

yeah absolutely, do you need any help setting up things? I do live a further away now but I have access to a van so if that helps at all....
( she somehow got roped into living with the d20 boys but that was a story for another day. )

Would you mind helping Accelerator locate an old TV and DVD player in the junkyard and bring it over to the library? Oh, I'm sorry, I'm not sure if you know him already...?

( she'd offer to use her points for this endeavor but....getting her katana and a photo of her father used up what she had. )
oh by the way, haven't gotten a copy of my dad's book but I did get a photo of him from aurora. want to see?
no subject
Oh, yes, absolutely. Please share.

( it’s an incredibly subtle comment, but it showed the depths of her respect and trust in harold.
in the meantime, she took a picture of the picture and sent it to him. )
now I can finally make a proper altar for him.

He looks very thoughtful. Would you mind if I contributed something to your altar?
[ It's something he'd never done for his own father, and he suddenly, acutely wants Heather not to mimic him in any way. Harold had never truly gotten over his father's death. He wants more and better than that for Heather, which means he should deviate from his own natural impulses in any way possible. ]
