[ That question mark is doing a lot of work in communicating right now. ]

You don't have to be polite like that with me, Mister Harold Finch. I feel more relieved in knowing you have no expectations. Thank you.
[ His anxiety at possibly giving some terrible shot piece that he thinks is good to someone that is well-thought of by Maria and Heather eases. But he sees why they like him - he really is a nice man. ]

Rest assured I'm polite as a personal preference. And 'Mr. Finch' is fine.

But if I annoy you, would you still be polite?[ That's a weird question to ask about a fond acquaintance of other people.
He rubs the back of his neck; it's sweaty. He lets out a small sigh. He does better in text because he's able to read what he wrote but it's only slightly better than when he's talking to a person face-to-face. ]
You can call me "Henry."

I'll continue to call you Mr. Townshend, if you don't mind.
[ Usually Harold just ignores instructions to use people's first names and goes about continuing to address them as he likes. Henry gets a minor concession here in terms of Harold trying to be more direct than normal, though he's still couching it in polite terms. ]

[ Very few people refer to him as "Mister Townshend." He supposes he was called that in school. But his memories are starting to get a little fuzzy. His past is slowly becoming obscured with the horror of the present and the dream-like existence that he's been in. Even being in Etraya, he still feels not quite connected to the world. But at least he's not having nightmares and ghosts aren't pushing notes under his door. Or coming through walls. Or reaching into his chest. Or making his head bleed. He wonders if that had real negative effects on him. ]
In your library, do you have books about the damages that ghosts can do to you? I'm a little worried about my head.

[ He's not going to disbelieve him given everything else happening in Etraya, but please, he needs to know more. ]

I get away from them and feel better, though, and the bleeding stops.
But I think it might not be good for my health.

It's only back home.
They used to try to reach into my chest and
[ ??????????????? ]
I'm not sure what they were trying to do.
But it didn't feel good.

I'm sorry to say that whatever you learn here will not carry over to when you return home. So unless it begins to bother you here, there's no real point in learning a defense.

Okay.
[ That's ... that's unfortunate.
Perhaps, it is because Henry's been this way that he was able to remain himself while locked in his apartment for an unknown amount of time. Even though he feels terrible and shaken about everything he's witnessed, he just takes this as another unfortunate development. But it isn't any of these kind people's fault; so he shouldn't try to stress them out or make them feel guilty.
So, he just does what he always does - accepts that this is how it is. ]

Perhaps that's something to appreciate about your time here? It being absent of ghosts.
