There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:

Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya!
Other characters can be prompted to fill out their friends' profiles for them. This includes the Q&A section!
Alternatively, they choose not to fill out the form, and it remains unfilled! These unfilled profiles will not be posted live.
Characters either like or dislike others CHIRPER profiles. These responses are private between the characters involved.

For those who do post a top level, CHIRPER toplevels are worth five extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These five extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.

If you haven't read it already, you'll probably like The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

I haven't read it yet. I'll look for it next time I'm in the library.

It's pretty famous, so the library should have it in the kids section.

That must mean it's a really good book!

But why do you think I'll like it?

It's about a boy who wants to learn more about the universe outside of his home, which is tiny, and he does that by going to different planets and meeting the people that live on them.

[Plus she'll probably enjoy the themes and characters, but he's going to stick to the space explanation for now so she can discover the rest of it herself.]

So it's an adventure story. That does sound interesting.

[ She doesn't ask further, wanting to read it for herself. Once she figures out how to reach Earth's Moon, that sounds like something she would like to also do too: adventure around the stars and planets. Maybe together with Levania, if he can venture out of the Cage. He only currently exists as data, incapable of leaving. But, maybe one day... ]

Can you come with me to the library?

Yeah, fine. If there are any other books you want that are on a high shelf I can get them down for you.

[All joking aside, hanging out with a kid and encouraging her to read good books does sound like a nice way to spend an afternoon.]

I have no idea who that is, but they're right. Shit can still happen around here, even if Etraya isn't that dangerous compared to other places.

[Especially for such a little kid....]

If you ever want to go somewhere and want someone with you you can ask me, okay? Doesn't matter where or when, even if you want to go to the fucking edge of the bubble in the middle of the night or something else that's ridiculous.

I'll keep that in mind. [ Probably not in the middle of the night... she's likely to be asleep by then. ]

And Darkie is my friend. He looks like a black spikey cat with red streaks. But he's not a cat. I'm not sure what he is. There's another one that looks like him but fluffier. That one's Dusky.

[Black and red cats........................ Ah, he knows who she means.]

Right, those two. Hope they're behaving themselves.

[He knows they don't have the best personalities. Not that he's one to talk....]

I hope so too. They like to be alone most of the time.

[ It makes her sad... she is strangely fond of those grumpy, shadowy cats. Maybe because they remind her of Levania in a way, but smaller. But anyway... ]

So why is there a bubble?
Have you been to the bubble?

Some people are more comfortable being alone. It's not a big deal.

We're in the bubble. It's basically a big invisible barrier around Etraya - all the islands we're living on - and it's meant to protect us. Going to the edge of it means going all the way over to the edge of one of the islands.

I think it's sad if they're alone all the time. I hope they're making friends.

[ She has to read the second part a few times over to make sure she understands. ]

What is the bubble protecting us from?
Does this mean we can't fly to the moon?

Some people don't need friends. Being alone is better.

[That's how he would like to think he is, anyways.]

Dangerous stuff that's outside. The bubble also keeps our environment stable, like the trees and shit. They wouldn't be able to survive if it wasn't for the bubble.

Yeah, the bubble is preventing us from getting up that high. Even if we had a spaceship we'd need Aurora to shut it off, or at least make a big hole in it.

I don't think so. I think everyone should have a friend. Even just one friend. Being alone is sad.

What's the dangerous stuff outside?

[If Fio was older he'd be getting sassy about this subject, even though deep down he knows she's right. Being alone sucks, it's lonely and depressing, but for the most part, being around other people is even harder than being alone.

It's complicated, basically, and he doesn't want his own baggage invalidating her opinion, so he tries to think of a different angle.]

Have you been making a lot of friends around here?

[He's a little hesitant to get too detailed since she's so young, but it also isn't a good idea to pretend it's safe out there. He'll explain what he can, even if he isn't sure if he can thread the needle of explaining to her without scaring her.]

For one, there was a monster out there that wanted to hurt people. Some people got rid of it, but there's probably more shit out there like that.

I've been making lots of friends. Lots of people are nice to me.

[ At least, she would like to think that she's been making a lot of friends, with a small handful that she feels closest to. It might be one-sided for some. Anyone that treats her with kindness is someone that she's quick to consider a friend. (And she despite how standoffish the two black and red hedgehogs are, she's also given them the "friend" title whether they like it or not. Funny they're one of the two she feels close to.)

As for "invaders" from the outside, it sounds like a familiar situation... ]

It's like where I came from. Something like that happened. There was an opening and a bunch of black birdies came inside to cause a lot of trouble.

Good. That's good.

[Anyone who isn't nice to a little kid is going to get their face smashed in.

More importantly though, the rest of her reply to him is raising all kinds of questions. If she's comparing something from back home to Im'mari, oh fuck, that's not good.]

An opening where?

The Cage. [ If he's asking about the name of the place she comes from. (And as she types, she's not thinking about how "the Cage" probably doesn't sound like a nice place...) ]

It's where I come from. It's a place on Earth's moon. The black birdies aren't causing trouble anymore. I helped protect the place together with my friends. Sometimes I think that's why Miss Aurora and Echo let me come here.

['The Cage' sounds like a horrible place, and it raises so many questions. What the hell? On the moon? What the hell kind of place would be called The Cage on the goddamn moon?!

Accelerator stares down at Fio's text for several minutes, trying to figure out what to say to her.]

You must've been brave to protect it.

[He frowns, typing out some more.]

What was the Cage like?

It was a little scary. I was really brave because I wasn't alone.

[ Okay, really scary honestly. Everything was falling apart. Being suddenly asked to protect the Cage felt like a lot of pressure. Thinking back, it almost felt similar to how Aurora first spoke with her in the hospital. Now she has to protect her world a second time.

Accelerator might be asking the worst person to explain the Cage. It's easier for her to think of the place as a "dream world". She's heard it referred to as a virtual space... but she isn't exactly sure what the word "virtual" means. ]

The Cage is a really big place with tons of tall stone towers. Way bigger than those skyscrapers you showed me. Lots of memories are kept there.

[This Cage place sounds incredibly strange. Tall stone towers where memories are kept? He can't tell if that's some kind of magical thing, or technological along the lines of Aurora's brain. He's curious though, he wants to hear more about it.]

Memories? How?

[ ...

There is a long delay as she tries to figure out how to answer, not because she's trying to hide the truth. She's an honest person. This was explained to her long ago. It was difficult to understand. But she knew she was able to exist by some strange circumstances. She mostly thought about protecting the Cage and making sure her best friend was safe and happy. ]

The memories are kept in the Cage as data.
That's what Mama told me. [ Reading her own text, just saying "memories" feels a little off. Then she adds (after she's confident that she spelled the word right): ]

Humanity's memories.

[Accelerator isn't sure what is causing the delay, but he doesn't mind either way. If she's having doubts she doesn't need to explain any further, and if it's too complex for her to describe that's okay, too. He's debating texting that to her when he receives a reply, and oh boy.

Data?

It's really like Aurora's brain? Those towers are computer towers? And on top of that, they're for humanity? And who the hell is 'Mama'? This raises so many more questions in his mind, and he isn't sure Fio can answer them, so he tries to pick through all of them to come up with something appropriate.

He also switches over to send this directly to Fio's inbox. This conversation feels like it's taking on a personal edge.]

I see. I think I understand, I know a lot about data.

Who is 'Mama'? And do you know why the Cage was made?
