[He's not used anything like this before. But Vivi decides to give it a try. It seems like it would be important to learn how to do this, to talk to everyone, after all. He just added it to the list of things he is learning and is new to figuring out. Which is a rather long one, given he is only technically a few months old, but still. There's initially something akin to the dark sky, and two blinking....wait, eyes? Before the young mage shifts and tries to adjust things a little as he straightens his large hat.]

Is it....it's working? I think. Um. Hello? My name is Vivi. I'm new here, I guess? I'm still figuring this place out. I don't know if anyone has seen my friends, whether they are around here somewhere?

[Cue him holding up a drawing he did. Vivi isn't sure if it might help. But it can't hurt? He won't know unless he tries to ask? Right? He tilts his head, lowering it for a moment as he puts down the drawing and fidgets a little.]

I was told we were here to prove something. To save our home. But I'm not sure if I should be the one who was chosen. I'm not as brave as Zidane. I'm not important like Gar -- Dagger. There's lots of other black mages. So I'm not sure why me, out of everyone...?

[He's not sure if being here might somehow impact things. His short lifespan, and however long he might have left. Aware that because they had stopped the Mist, there was likely no way to create any more black mages. At least that he was aware of. He's sure that there were plenty of other, better options to bring to prove that their world was deserving enough to be saved. But he tries to shake that train of thought.]

This place is pretty amazing, though. There's so many things here that I haven't seen or done before! It's kind of exciting! Even if it is a little scary, too.

[But at least, regardless of what happens to him, he knows the others are alright. Hopes that Zidane is. Vivi isn't sure what else to say, exactly, so he pauses after a moment before fumbling to turn the feed off.]

[It took Manny about a few seconds to scrutinise the drawing that Vivi held up. Then, he shook his head.]

I haven’t seen anyone here who matches the appearances in your drawing. But as for why, we don’t really know. Echo pulls people in at random, with no real pattern on who gets chosen to be here.

[ So Vivi made it safely to Etraya proper. That comes as a relief to him. ]

I've not sighted your friends, but I shall notify you should that change.

[ Just as he will look out for Vax's twin, and for Aerith. He can look out for Vivi's friends as well. ]

We know not why we've been chosen, only that we are.

Hi Vivi! My name's Ace and just like you, I was brought in here some time ago.

[He waves at the video, and smiles brightly.]

i'll let you know if I see any of your friends, but if you were chosen, then that means there's something only you can do. Do everything you want to do! Also, try all the foods they offer here, they're so tasty!

[Manny looks....big. Vivi isn't sure if he can recall anything that might compare to him back home, but he can tell that the other seems far larger. He listens and tries not to look too worried or upset when Manny says he doesn't think he has seen Vivi's friends.]

Oh. Well, um. Let me know? I guess if it is more random, then that might make more sense. I'm not sure why it would choose me, otherwise.

Hi Vivi, I'm Sonia. I haven't seen your friends. If I meet anyone matching those shown in your drawing, I'll be sure to let you know right away.

May I ask you something? What are black mages?

Alright then, I'll try to keep an eye out for them.

[Vivi is probably not the only one who might be looking for others. He figures there might be some others who might be alone or still searching for at least some of their friends or family. And, well, given how many of them there were traveling together back home, Vivi supposes it would be more of a surprise if they did all come together.]

Sonia? Oh. If you keep an eye out, thank you. What about you? Your friends?

[He could at least offer the same in return. Try to help keep an eye out for her, her friends or family if he can.]

Black mages are like me. Back home, we're....created. Like dolls. Made to fight, so our magic is more offensive? destructive? I guess? Most black mages are fighting for Kuja. He lied, promising them that he could help them live longer.

Ace? Okay. Ace, then. But uh, something only I can do....?

[He's not sure if there is really anything. Vivi does look up to his friends, though. So, it might not be such a surprise if he isn't as confident. He's come a long way since he first met Zidane and the rest, but even still, he might need to think about that.]

Try all the food? You sound like Quina. He loves eating.

Thank you, Dion. And um, you too! If you're still looking for someone. I can keep an eye out for them. Let you know.

[He wants to offer. Even if he knows that Dion has at least some familiar faces around. There might still be others he is missing. That he wants to see again.]

I mean. If I can help, I want to. I'm just not sure what I can do, specifically.

I would appreciate that. [ In the case of those he might hope to find here, most he would sense the presence of, however... ] I've been watching for those from others' worlds. One is a woman with pointed ears, long dark hair, and a preference for wearing blue feathers as an adornment. I was told she answers to Vex.

[ As others had helped him keep watch for Joshua, so too will he aid them. It's only natural to do so. ]

As for the other, Aerith... I must ask Cloud for a description, but she has an affinity for flowers.

[ How had he failed to ask? Well, it's a matter easily remedied. Dion will see to it. ]

I believe we are all the same in that. We're not told how our worlds' worthiness is to be decided.

Vex and Aerith? Okay. If I see either of them, I'll let you know.

[Vivi will try to remember. He can at least manage that. If others are going to offer to keep an eye out for his friends. He wants to help in return, somehow.]

I guess if it is on me, I'll just. Do my best!

Well, you're in luck! From what I've seen so far, you probably won't need to be brave or important. So far, the only tasks I've been given have been things like sliding down slides and eating a lot of hot dogs. Are you good at eating a lot of food? Maybe that's why you were chosen.

Hot dogs? Eating is really more Quina's thing, I think.

[Vivi can and does eat. He's just.....not as enthusiastic about food and cooking as Quina. He's pretty sure that nobody else is quite that enthusiastic about food.]

Oh? Okay. If you say so.

[He doesn't want to be a bother. To intrude. But Vivi is aware that he is newer. That he might have questions. That he might need support at times because of that. Or just because he is younger and still learning about a lot of things.]

I appreciate your help, but I know for the fact that no one from my world is here. I would've seen them by now.

[Honestly, it’s much harder to miss a mammoth or two along with a saber-tooth tiger and a sloth. Especially given their unique shapes and sizes.]

There’s a chance they might show up in the next batch of arrivals, though.

I've found that people brought here might not be the bravest, or the strongest, or the most famous or any of that. But they're always the right person for the job, so don't worry, you'll do alright.

I. haven't seen your friends either, I'm sorry. But I'll keep watch. Have you caught a chocobo yet?

Well, they also had us sliding down these 'slides' that had water flowing down them and hitting each other with pool noodles...do either of those things sound like something you might be really good at?

[ There are those in this world who are less cooperative, but Dion is reasonably confident that most would readily help Vivi. He's a good lad. ]

[If he and Manny ended up here, there's a chance? Right? Vivi isn't sure if he should hope. Or was that being selfish? He wouldn't want his friends to be separated either. But he really does miss Zidane and Steiner, especially.]

[Vivi isn't so sure, but he supposes all he can do is his best. To make sure he proves that his home is worth saving. He wants to do what he can. Even if he might not be the best option. He just has to make do.]

Caught a chocobo? Um, there was some racing at that place before. But I haven't found any here yet.

Oh. That. I tried the slide. It was fun. I'm not as sure about the...it's not noodles like the food? Right? Something to do with swimming?

[Vivi grew up around the swamps, so. It wasn't exactly the best environment to swim around in. But he is trying to do his best to learn. Has seen and done so much since leaving home. Maybe if he keeps learning, keeps earning more of these points, he could prove himself.]

I guess that makes sense. I mean, everyone wants to do their best. To prove themselves. To save their homes. If we all work together, we can save more of our homes, right?

[In theory? Vivi's still sussing everything out, yet. It's still a work in progress as he learns more and figures out how much of this he really understands. He wants to help others if he can. To help keep his home, his friends there safe.]

I believe so. There are routinely tasks that encourage teamwork among us all. It would be counter-intuitive if that was something undesired.

[ So Dion reasons. Even were it not so, he would try to find a way to aid others, just has he has no doubt Ifrit and the Phoenix would. ]
