[He's not used anything like this before. But Vivi decides to give it a try. It seems like it would be important to learn how to do this, to talk to everyone, after all. He just added it to the list of things he is learning and is new to figuring out. Which is a rather long one, given he is only technically a few months old, but still. There's initially something akin to the dark sky, and two blinking....wait, eyes? Before the young mage shifts and tries to adjust things a little as he straightens his large hat.]

Is it....it's working? I think. Um. Hello? My name is Vivi. I'm new here, I guess? I'm still figuring this place out. I don't know if anyone has seen my friends, whether they are around here somewhere?

[Cue him holding up a drawing he did. Vivi isn't sure if it might help. But it can't hurt? He won't know unless he tries to ask? Right? He tilts his head, lowering it for a moment as he puts down the drawing and fidgets a little.]

I was told we were here to prove something. To save our home. But I'm not sure if I should be the one who was chosen. I'm not as brave as Zidane. I'm not important like Gar -- Dagger. There's lots of other black mages. So I'm not sure why me, out of everyone...?

[He's not sure if being here might somehow impact things. His short lifespan, and however long he might have left. Aware that because they had stopped the Mist, there was likely no way to create any more black mages. At least that he was aware of. He's sure that there were plenty of other, better options to bring to prove that their world was deserving enough to be saved. But he tries to shake that train of thought.]

This place is pretty amazing, though. There's so many things here that I haven't seen or done before! It's kind of exciting! Even if it is a little scary, too.

[But at least, regardless of what happens to him, he knows the others are alright. Hopes that Zidane is. Vivi isn't sure what else to say, exactly, so he pauses after a moment before fumbling to turn the feed off.]

[ So Vivi made it safely to Etraya proper. That comes as a relief to him. ]

I've not sighted your friends, but I shall notify you should that change.

[ Just as he will look out for Vax's twin, and for Aerith. He can look out for Vivi's friends as well. ]

We know not why we've been chosen, only that we are.

[He wants to offer. Even if he knows that Dion has at least some familiar faces around. There might still be others he is missing. That he wants to see again.]

I mean. If I can help, I want to. I'm just not sure what I can do, specifically.

I would appreciate that. [ In the case of those he might hope to find here, most he would sense the presence of, however... ] I've been watching for those from others' worlds. One is a woman with pointed ears, long dark hair, and a preference for wearing blue feathers as an adornment. I was told she answers to Vex.

[ As others had helped him keep watch for Joshua, so too will he aid them. It's only natural to do so. ]

As for the other, Aerith... I must ask Cloud for a description, but she has an affinity for flowers.

[ How had he failed to ask? Well, it's a matter easily remedied. Dion will see to it. ]

I believe we are all the same in that. We're not told how our worlds' worthiness is to be decided.

Vex and Aerith? Okay. If I see either of them, I'll let you know.

[Vivi will try to remember. He can at least manage that. If others are going to offer to keep an eye out for his friends. He wants to help in return, somehow.]

I guess if it is on me, I'll just. Do my best!

[ His gratitude carries in his voice, sincere as it is. He can only hope they sight these individuals in the future. ]

[He doesn't want to be a bother. To intrude. But Vivi is aware that he is newer. That he might have questions. That he might need support at times because of that. Or just because he is younger and still learning about a lot of things.]

[ There are those in this world who are less cooperative, but Dion is reasonably confident that most would readily help Vivi. He's a good lad. ]

Most here are willing to aid one another.

I guess that makes sense. I mean, everyone wants to do their best. To prove themselves. To save their homes. If we all work together, we can save more of our homes, right?

[In theory? Vivi's still sussing everything out, yet. It's still a work in progress as he learns more and figures out how much of this he really understands. He wants to help others if he can. To help keep his home, his friends there safe.]

I believe so. There are routinely tasks that encourage teamwork among us all. It would be counter-intuitive if that was something undesired.

[ So Dion reasons. Even were it not so, he would try to find a way to aid others, just has he has no doubt Ifrit and the Phoenix would. ]

I guess that's true. I'm just still figuring out, how it all works.

[Vivi almost wants to apologize for all the questions. But he supposes, he would not be the only one. Not likely the first or the last. If people kept showing up here every so often.]

As are we all, to varying degrees. Much remains a mystery.

[ Such as the reasons for which they are individually selected. None of them know the answer to that most pressing of questions. ]

Then we just have to keep looking, right? For answers.

[They could find out more over time. Eventually. They just had to be stubborn. Determined. Keep at it.]

[ Vivi's a good lad. Dion had already thought as much, but it only proves more the casem ]

Indeed. We have only to press on and continue looking.

I'll help. If I hear or see something. I can let you know. If that's okay.

[He doesn't want to pester Dion, or anyone else. But he does want to help if he can. He just wants to contribute somehow. So if he does think something might be important, he could use these things to message Dion or others?]

[ He hopes that perhaps, if he mirrors Vivi's polite caution, it might help to reassure him. ]

Oh. Um, y-yes! That's okay! I mean. If we work together, then...then it'll help both our worlds, right? So....it's better. I think.

[Vivi is still figuring all this out yet, but. From what he's been told, at least. That seems to be his understanding, anyway.]

Yes, I agree with you. Cooperation will surely benefit our worlds.

[ Why else would they be issued team-building missions? There must be purpose behind it. ]

I want to do what I can. Have you been here long?

[He isn't sure how long everyone has been here. How long might he be here for? He doesn't think that he has long. Not before he would....stop moving. Die. He just wants to do what he can with the time he has left. However long that might be. Here, or back home.]

Two moons since my first mission in Aphaia. Others have been here longer yet.

[ Dion suspects that Odin and Ramuh have been here significantly longer, adjusted to the world as they are. He wonders whether the curse has advanced for the latter in that time. It hasn't yet in his case, though this could mean nothing at all. ]

It would seem ours is a long-term task.

Oh. I see.

[Two months. Some were here longer....Vivi isn't sure how much longer he has. But, well, he just has to try and make the best of it. Do what he can. However much longer he has left. He can spend his time doing his best to save his home, his friends. He's okay with that.]

So I could be here a while. That's okay.

Yes. We are well provided-for, at least.

[ Such a bounty of resources and free of the encroaching threat of the Blight. The technology far exceeds that of his people as well. It's a luxury beyond what his people know, in many ways. ]

Should you require something specific, you may be able to ask it of Aurora, as well.

Oh? I guess I'd have to figure a job. To pay her, right?

[Vivi hasn't.....really actually had a proper job before. But he doesn't mind. He wants to help out and be useful. Aurora and whoever else should be thanked and compensated for helping. He's still figuring this place out, with regards to accommodation and money and everything yet.]

The only currency in this realm are points we're awarded for being active on missions and social functions. These are what Aurora accepts as compensation.

[ It's a curious system, though one that leaves none of them richer than others. In that sense, Dion reasons it levels their standing. ]

Social functions? I guess that seems simple enough.

[He isn't sure on the objectives of these missions, but he guesses that might change depending on what they are required to do. How they are supposed to help, prove themselves, and their world worthy of saving. As far as social functions go, Vivi is decidedly out of his element there; that sounds more like the sort of thing Garnet would be better at. Given his appearance and all. But he supposes he could try. He's not quite as shy and timid as he was.]

I believe they are encouraged as "team-building" exercises, generally speaking.

[ Dion will not soon forget that Camp Etraya was not, in fact, a training camp. It was extremely peculiar to him, having spent so much of his life in the military, but he supposes he can see the merit in it. He did endeavor to know and understand the men under his command.
