[Sometime in the evening after Aurora's announcement, a new text post appears on the network.]
wooooooow, what a spooky mission, huh?? an earth that tampers with people's minds like that ... pretty intense stuff for all our newcomers!!
ahhh, i'd offer people a round of free drinks to take the edge off, but alas, everything here is already free....so instead i'll keep bar lupin open for extended hours this week! come and have a good time ... just know if you make a scene or draw a weapon there, i'll gut you like a fish! ♥
just kidding, of course!
[He's not kidding.]
really does make a man think, though, hm? is "morality" really so intrinsic to a person that it can be turned on and off like a simple switch? a "good" person can become "bad" and vice versa?
one almost has to wonder what the nature of such an anomaly as all that might be, really, if such an intangible notion can be so readily influenced ... and what motivations might be involved with seeking to harness such a phenomenon.
indulge me in a few little brain teasers, would you?
which do you believe is a heavier weight to bear, kindness, or cruelty?
is it more appropriate to prevent someone from ending a life, or saving a life?
which group do you think will suffer more from the pursuit of a return to status quo?

i always enjoy having interesting conversations with people ♥
don't you think it's valuable to have an idea of how people around you are thinking? if we are all to coordinate to solve problems together, it's good to know where to start, mm?
[Granted, he's uh, highly suspicious of many of the Team Building Activities in Etraya, but he really does enjoy talking about these things. Even if his methods can be, mm, questionable.]

Which is more appropriate: this question needs some editing for clarity, as I am not sure whether the second action is “prevent someone from saving a life” or “saving a life” on its own, but either way the answer is to prevent someone from ending a life.
Who will suffer more: as above, but no answer because suffering cannot be meaningfully measured.

[That's the only response at first, which probably sets A Tone for how this is about to go, but ... well. The typing dots appear again shortly thereafter.]
you've touched upon the crux of our situation, don't you think?
we are told we are to be judged upon concepts that have no objective definition, no stated, measurable criteria
what does it mean to reverse an anomaly like the one we've been told about? is that success?
it seems reasonable and straightforward to want to prevent someone who has become violent from causing further harm, even if it means they must bear the weight of their crimes in the aftermath, but what of the opposite? what happens to those who have made the choice to help, to save lives instead of ending them?
do you think they would be afraid of having that choice taken from them? do you think they would be angry?
is it kindness, or cruelty?

I do think it’s a little pompous to say there is no measurable criteria for kindness & cruelty. Even little children understand why being belittled make them feel bad, and getting to play with their friends feels good. You don’t really need a definition to understand that, do you?
Either way, no one relishes choice being taken from them, but we don’t really get a say when it happens, do we? Least we can do is put it as it was so they can get back to determining what they’d like to do for themselves. That’s a kindness.

we aren't being judged on kindness or cruelty, though. we're judged on "worthiness" to be saved, an inherently subjective concept.
that said, there's certainly more ambiguity to the matter than those simple cases, don't you think?
more often than not, it's those that are convinced of their inherent goodness and rightness that are capable of the most harm.
i wonder, though ... do you believe a person has an intrinsic, unchangeable nature? to these people's perspective, they are determining what they would like to do for themselves. the nature of the influence upon them is unknown.
are their wishes irrelevant, simply because someone else sees them as "unnatural"?
imagine, for instance, if you were to be in an accident and lost some of your memory, and people expected you to act exactly as you were before.
would that not be difficult and painful, to be expected to live as a person that no longer exists? how would you feel, if you became aware someone has the intention to change you to fit some vision that's not true to who you are right at this moment, regardless of "better" or "worse"?
i don't claim to have an answer, of course!
but it's certainly an interesting topic to think about, isn't it?

Anyone is capable of change. If I get drunk and have a laugh at someone else’s expense, I may enjoy myself at the time. I may also be annoyed with a friend who intervened and spoiled my fun. But I will also be glad in the morning to have been stopped, and maybe the embarrassment will keep me from doing it again. I do not consider who my friend wants me to be; only the person I choose to be in my best & worst moments, and who I would prefer to become.
Do you like philosophy?

As for why someone would want that, I hope that will become more apparent when we see the world itself.
Do you have any thoughts on it?
[ Since they're asking him a question, they might as well answer his questions too. ]
Brain teasers:
1. Cruelty
2. It's more appropriate to save a life. Preventing a life from being ended isn't the same as saving it.
3. Could you define this scenario in more detail?
