[ In the very late hours of the night (or early morning depending on your perspective), there comes a message that's basically a stream of consciousness. ]

so, this mission. the location.
it's kind of like... my home world? or it reminds me of it
either way, it
got me thinking
and I realized I've been here
like a whole year? basically?

that's wild

I don't really know where I was going with this, I realize
I just needed to say it, I think
it doesn't feel real sometimes
it's a year more than I would have gotten otherwise, but also

it's complicated
I miss home
well, I mostly miss the people from home I think
not the actual place.

anyway, how long have some of you been here?
do you miss home, or is here better for you?
what do you think will happen when we're done here?
I think I just need to have some people to talk about it with, maybe
and I appreciate it

It seems fine here. Everyone's been pretty nice, and there's a lot of new and interesting things I've never seen before. It's just that my world's nice, too, and it's what I'm used to, so I miss it.

I hope your world lives on, too. I hope they're wrong about everything and everyone's world gets to live on.

that's the ideal
and, hey, who knows?
maybe there'll be a way for me to go back too eventually
I don't want to hope or anything, but
it'd be nice if nothing else to at least see the people I want to a last time

but I won't be alive to know I guess
pretty sure my time there was up so this is all I got

unless I somehow survived falling off a skyscraper

is probably unlikely

You might. Someone might see you falling and cast featherfall. or maybe a giant owl will catch you.

that's a nice thought
I guess I can't rule it out entirely, but
it didn't look good in the end
and I wasn't even really the main target of it all, just collateral which makes it less likely I was going to be saved out of anyone
