[ In the very late hours of the night (or early morning depending on your perspective), there comes a message that's basically a stream of consciousness. ]

so, this mission. the location.
it's kind of like... my home world? or it reminds me of it
either way, it
got me thinking
and I realized I've been here
like a whole year? basically?

that's wild

I don't really know where I was going with this, I realize
I just needed to say it, I think
it doesn't feel real sometimes
it's a year more than I would have gotten otherwise, but also

it's complicated
I miss home
well, I mostly miss the people from home I think
not the actual place.

anyway, how long have some of you been here?
do you miss home, or is here better for you?
what do you think will happen when we're done here?
I think I just need to have some people to talk about it with, maybe
and I appreciate it

the morgans
they were a trio of 'brothers' I spent a lot of time around
immortal beings created of minerals by the deities of land, sky, and sea to be their avatars for each
Reyson, Feldspar, and Misto respectively
only Feldspar kept his true name
Reyson was a werewolf, Feldspar a vampire, and Misto was like... most worlds' equivalent of davy jones, I guess? helped souls lost at sea find peace

I met them all through work, actually
Reyson was security
Feldspar was our alchemist/magic man
Misto was the freighter who got things for us we couldn't locally
they were like the only people I really could be around
well, except for Nobora
he did the same work as me, but just appealed to a different clientele

[ i.e. While her beauty and appeal could attract many men, it couldn't attract all of them. They needed a wider net for that and that's where Nobora came in. ]

[ In some ways her story here isn't all that far from things Fabian has experienced in his own world.

In other ways.. well, it's pretty wild. He does need to reread the message at least once to properly grasp it, honestly. ]

so where you come from you have..... mineral werewolves??

[ He knows what werewolves are, at least! But he thought that those are just as flesh and blood as everyone else? Jawbone sure always seemed that way, anyway. ]

he's where werewolves today came from since he was the first to exist
Feldspar too but with vampires
coupling with mortals meant those genes of theirs got passed on
it's not a bite or whatever that causes people to change, just genetics

oh in spyre it very much happens through bites
and probably genetics too???
i never really asked a werewolf about that one
and if i'd ask jawbone he'd probably assume he'd have to give me some weird sex ed and it'd get all awkward

[ No thanks!!! Running as fast as he can from Jawbone and that guy's attempts at giving Fabian therapy is Fabian's favorite hobby, thanks. ]

but i do know it sure as anything has nothing to do with minerals

Reyson and his brothers ARE unique cases though
but they act just like regular guys a lot of the time
so I forget they're technically old as time originators of certain species
