[The camera is fixed on a table, upon which sits a neat stack of cards –– black with gold foil in the shape of a sun and moon bisecting each other. The user’s hands pass over the deck and spreads it wide into an arc. Her hands are tanned, with two rings on her ring finger and one on her index finger, and she has so many colourful braided bracelets that some wind around her palm.

Her voice is pleasant, playful, French, a little theatrical:]

Maybe it's the painted on smile with wolf teeth behind it. Both halves of it being scarier than either on it's own.

Though it does make me wonder –– was it difficult to get out of your fur?

The trick was waiting until I shifted back to wash my face. I had some stubble I had to wash it out of, but that's not near as tricky as fur.

Ooh, smart. My shapeshifting friend wouldn’t have that much luck, unfortunately, it would only get worse in his natural form.

Oh, lots of hair in his natural form? That would make it tough, but I'm sure enough scrubbing would get it out.

Or maybe he could just avoid clown make-up.

Lots and lots of it. I’ll advise him against it, just in case.

Good idea. It's something anyone with fur should be aware of.

Although I'm not sure how he'd get make-up on right with fur, anyway.

Oh, with a deft enough hand, anyone could manage. The biggest concern is if he’d hold still long enough!

Well, for that you just have to keep him too focused on something else to move.

Foot? Does...he really like feet? Or something?

Yes. He collects them and uses them to absorb the creature's power. It's how he shape shifts.

[will_chase_balls]

Oh. [He pauses, thinking about that.] I just shape shift by feeling like doing it, but clearly his shifting is a very different thing.

[Considering Dwayne just has the one other form he can shift into naturally, and collecting feet wouldn't change that even if he wanted to try..]

Well, there's no limit to what he can transform into if he has the foot, but that's nothing compared to just being able to feel or imagine it.

Well, I can't turn into whatever I want, I'm just able to do it whenever I want. I just have the two forms I can go between.

Just two? That sounds so… limiting. Can you get more?

No. It's not magic that's learned like what druids do, it's more like...kind of like werewolves except we don't lose control when we shift and we're not tied to the full moon.

[As a shifter, he grew up trying to distance himself from actual werewolves despite the fact that there clearly is a link, since werewolves are seen as a dangerous monster and shifters are not. However, with so many people here not knowing what a shifter is, it's the easiest way to explain things.]

Oh, really? It’s not done with magic? [It’s most definitely magic for Monoco; science couldn’t possibly explain that kind of shapeshifting.] I can’t imagine how it would work otherwise, changing from one form to another.

Maybe it uses some magic? But it's not like a spell. It's not learnable. It's just...if someone is a shifter, they can do it.
