[In a rare moment of using video on purpose, there's Jayce. To those who know him, he looks the same as he always does. To those who don't- he's an early 30's man with seemingly a permanent five-o-clock shadow, bright golden eyes, and perfectly coiffed hair. The background is out of focus, but to those who know it, it's clearly a part of S.T.A.R. labs. Normally a little more jovial or at least less serious sounding, Jayce looks into the camera like he's giving a press release.]
We’ve got about forty-eight hours or less until Aurora allows that toxin into Etraya. Which means if you haven’t started taking precautions already; start now. Get easily carried food, medical supplies, whatever you think you'd need. Better to be over-prepared than under.
Considering what Aurora's told us about the "mission"... If you’re someone prone to having weapons, do us all a favor and throw them into one of our many, lovely lakes, before you wind up using it on someone else. Or, if you’re going to be touchy about it, let me know, I’ll talk with Harold about how we can get them locked up somewhere for the mission’s duration.
As a reminder to those who don’t want to think about it, and maybe new information to those who are new: if you die here, for whatever reason, you lose something. I don’t know what, you won’t know what, and you might not even know what it is you’ve lost even after you’ve lost it. Maybe it’s an eye, maybe it’s the memory of your best friend. Either way, whatever you're afraid of by not having your weapons on you isn’t worth what you’ll be making someone else lose because of your bad decisions.
If you have any special concerns, worries about any specific denizens in this upcoming mission, now's also the time to voice it.

I can measure a bunch of scientific shit about my body. Electrical, biochemical, that kind of thing. I do it regularly, so I have the structure of my body memorized. After I died all I did was compare that older data with the newer data, and it all seemed the same to me.
If magic was involved I'm a lot more limited in what I can do, since I'm still new to it.

Right. Okay.
[...,...]
So like. Like if someone can scan for magical stuff, say... [Me?? But like not me.] I mean, if they could--

[He's spent most of his like being a guinea pig so he's used to it, and at least this would be for a good cause.]

[..,]
I mean I guess after everyone's done being frickin' poisoned or whatever, then, I dunno-- I can probably. Do that.

[really, they could just do this today but like...........]

I mean, unless you're a bastard first, I guess. But whatever. Whatever!!
...
wait--]
Uh...How do I...find you? Later? You're just talking words in my ear, so I don't really...y'know...
no subject
Just message me on the earpiece after the mission and we can meet up wherever. I'm not going to be busy, so any time is going to work.

Accelerator. Same as my username.

[sure. that. that thing.] Okay, that's-- wait. [HANG ON. ROLLING A HISTORY CHECK.]
Oh, yeah! [19 (16+3)] Fucknnnrhhhhfrickin' Shadow said to talk to you! That was, uh--
[...]
Uh, a while ago. Damn.

Why did he say that?

[Hold up —]
He wanted you to fucking stalk me? Am I getting that right?
[Because that sure sounds like stalking to him.]

What? No. But isn't recon work usually supposed to be covert or something? Like you're spying on people instead of having conversations with them?
no subject
It's recon because he's pulling it from me second-hand, yeah? Instead of helping me out since I'MMMM not the one who could fly and shoot lasers out my butt!
Honestly, I was just being exploited.
[honestly? this is kind of bait. Antigone quietly hopes Shadow explodes out of the ground to sass back because she wants to be sure he's not fucking dead or in a necromancy jar or whatever.]
no subject
Either that or he was just being a lazy shit.
Doesn't really matter, anyways. Since he's gone you don't have to worry about doing that anymore.

[But that's getting off-topic.]
But you're right. The only way to confirm someone is gone is to ask Aurora and believe her. Their accounts on the earpieces get shut off, so that's another way. It doesn't actually confirm it, though.
I'm trusting Aurora when she says someone is gone. You can do what you want.
