Chirper

CHIRPER

Welcome to our bi-monthly CHIRPER post!

There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:
  • Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
  • When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya, or by other characters on behalf of their friends! This includes the Q&A section.
  • Characters can either like or dislike others' CHIRPER profiles. These responses are public.
  • This is voluntary on an OOC basis; if the character doesn't have a profile completed by themselves or anyone else, nothing shows up for them on CHIRPER.
  • For those who do post a top level, CHIRPER profiles are worth five extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These five extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.
This month there is a special ๐Ÿ‘ป SPOOKY SEASON ๐Ÿ‘ป addition: instead of โœ“ or โœ• for like or dislike, it's ๐ŸŽƒ and ๐Ÿ’€. Whatever the character has the most votes for shows up appended to their username on the network for the next month, as in, un: aurora ๐Ÿ’€.

Please feel free to switch out any of the Q&A questions with those listed here!

**This is a fixed version of the code, sorry about that!

[ Oh, is he now? How amusing. Clea fully intends on drawing her own conclusions. ]

He clearly bothers you a great deal, for you to warn a stranger against him.

No; I work in static media as well. Conventional paintings and sculpture primarily.

I am not warning a stranger, I am warning a friend of Clive. Cid is the sort of man who abandons his loved ones when the waves get rocky. Weaves promises which turn out to be nothing but sweet nothings.

And what of your singing?

I will consider your words.

[ Clea means precisely what she writes. The warning will be considered and kept in her mind, but she is not going to allow herself to be so easily swayed in one direction or the other. His information will be taken seriously, but not as a sole source of truth. ]

My singing is mediocre and I lack any talent for composition, so I do not consider it an art I truly practice.

[ She does not create new songs, only sing the words of others. ]

That is all I wish.

[Sleipnir wouldn't warn a stranger off of Cidolfus; he is not a cockblock and besides, Sleipnir would get tired and grow weary of such since it feels like the man has slept with half of Valisthea and Etraya both. No, Clive cares for Clea and so Sleipnir will try to keep a watch on her.]

Hmm... You may not consider it thus, but I do feel my emotions ebb and swell when listening to your voice and the memory has stuck with me. I can only imagine how vivid an experience it would be were I present with you while you do so.

Are you attempting to flatter me, monsieur?

Some credit must go to the composer and poet.

Once more you overestimate the effort I am willing to put in. I am merely speaking to my experience. Before coming to Etraya I had not heard much outside of various tavern bardsongs.

Granted, but it is yours and Lord Kexing's performance I have heard, not the ones whom created such.

Does flattery take effort for you?

That is a shame. If you enjoyed what you heard, you should seek out other music. It would be a waste to deprive yourself further.

Monsieur Kexing is no longer here, so there is no more of his flute to be had.

Flattery by definition is false praise and lies take great effort to maintain.

I was able to indulge in some while we were on Earth, but I heard nothing like what you and he performed.

A shame he is gone, he seemed quite the talented man.

[Sleipnir had use for a man of his talents, a shame indeed.]

I share your distaste for lies.

I don't believe it would be a common pairing: our nations are far away from one another, and he had a gift for musical improvisation that not many have.

Yes, it is. My practice has slowed to a near halt.

[ Learning something with and without a teacher is quite different. She'd had her parents to teach her about her Gift from the tenderest age. ]

I have a rather strong distaste for them. It is rare I find another who so dislikes them, but I find myself believing you.

The sounds of different cultures coming together not to clash, but to create... How rare a gift for man. Musical improvisation can only be done so well by someone with strong skill, I regret we will likely not see another of such talent.

And what had Monsieur Kexing been teaching you?

[Sleipnir is guessing 'monsieur' is a title Clea heard from Kexing and he wishes to respect the man's title.]

I have seen how lies twist a person: Once someone starts lying to please others, they lose sight of who they are.

Yes, he possessed a great talent. Perhaps we will see another, although this place seems to favor combatants and children for some reason.

I was attempting to learn a method of combat and self-improvement taught by his nation. They termed it 'cultivation'. It involves harnessing one's soul energy for use on the physical plane. I know how to wield the energies of the soul, but I was only taught the creative uses.

Most wise and well spoken.

I have noticed the overabundance of warriors and child soldiers. I wonder if this is deemed a crucial skill for the salvation of one's universe.

Be there a difference between one's 'soul energy' and aether?

Out of self interest, I hope not. It puts some of us at a rather marked disadvantage.

I am not certain. How do you define 'aether'?
