CHIRPER

Welcome to our bi-monthly CHIRPER post!

There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:
  • Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
  • When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya, or by other characters on behalf of their friends! This includes the Q&A section.
  • Characters can either like or dislike others' CHIRPER profiles. These responses are public.
  • This is voluntary on an OOC basis; if the character doesn't have a profile completed by themselves or anyone else, nothing shows up for them on CHIRPER.
  • For those who do post a top level, CHIRPER profiles are worth five extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These five extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.
This month there is a special 👻 SPOOKY SEASON 👻 addition: instead of ✓ or ✕ for like or dislike, it's 🎃 and 💀. Whatever the character has the most votes for shows up appended to their username on the network for the next month, as in, un: aurora 💀.

Yes, because that's the time I'm in. What do you consider advanced, though? My world doesn't have electricity either, but San Francisco and Etraya do... and I'd say we are much more advanced than both in different ways. We don't let people starve in the streets like they do in San Francisco, and we have a better understanding of art than Etraya does.

That sounds lovely, bringing music home from all over.

I took piano lessons for a bit. I could have been decent if I cared much for it, but my art is dance. Do you play something?

I hadn’t thought of it that way. You make a very good point, though. Advanced doesn’t necessarily only relate to the technology of the world. If that is the case, my world is most certainly not advanced in any way. Personally, I think that people being able to live fulfilling lives in the way they choose is more important than many of the comforts provided here. Although having proper sewer systems and waste disposal does help keep people healthier so that would be nice to have, as is the ease of access to food. Antibiotics and vaccines are also amazing. The people who discovered those are marvels.

It’s one of the few luxuries I allow myself. Art helps remind people that there are beautiful things in the world, even when things seem to be at their darkest. That’s how I feel, anyway.

I never got the chance to learn, though I do sing a bit. I hadn’t for some time, not since my brother was very little and I could get away with it, but recently have been reminded why it felt good to begin with. I’ve also been learning some dance, but that has been primarily for exercise, so I can’t say that I would be at all interesting to watch. I haven't had formal training in either, though I did have someone who helped me learn some basics for dancing.

I'm sure your world has some advantage, or at least one waiting in the wings when it has some relief from its current struggles. But I do think one of the important things about getting fulfilling life is that it includes comfort... your people have a tremendous amount of work to do, and things to discover, but I hope that includes some play, yeah? For you especially. You sound like you take a lot on your shoulders.

You sing? You must sound lovely, deep voice like that. And that's alright, going without formal training. It's very time consuming and sometimes it is just better to dance for the fun of it.

For me, I could say it's for exercise and the joy of movement, and it really is! But truthfully I like being under a spotlight, and I liked that part well before I was properly trained.

Every world has its advantages, I’m sure. For me, mine comes from my people. How we all stand up in the face of adversity and are still able to smile, support one another, keep fighting. The resiliency of mankind is what I see in each and every one of them. We all do what we can to support each other and that looks different from person to person. You’re correct in that I take on a lot, but I do so gladly. This is what I can contribute, where my strengths lie.

That is quite the vote of confidence for someone who has never heard me sing, but thank you. Just don’t blame me if you change your mind after you hear me for the first time. As for dancing, I agree. I’ve had to do both in my lifetime and I much prefer dancing for the fun of it.

There is something different about having the attention of so many people. Usually, I’m not a fan of the sensation of so many people watching me, but I learned when I first came here that it could also be enjoyable. Honestly, having to perform is what made me realize I like to dance.

I would like to see you dance. With that much passion for it, I’m sure you are a sight to behold.
