Happy 1st of November, everyone! We made it through another October--which in my experience tends to be the roughest month of year of us stuck in bubble cities. What with all the monsters and other fearful things that slip in through the barriers....
But anyways, now that we're in November, I've got the bandwidth to share some happenings that will be coming up before the next mission.
First off, Book Club! We hold a community book club meeting sometime between the day of Aurora's mission announcement and the mission start date. So that will be coming up; we usually hold it in the library in Alcyone's Wake. Anyone is welcome to hang out and talk books when the date is settled on.
Another event in the works is a community harvest/Thanksgiving feast, also to be held before the mission, just in case we get sent offworld again. Sophie has generously offered the NYX Community Center, located in the Charronway island, to be the venue. A key thing for a potluck-style feast is that people bring food for the group--you don't have to make a dish for 100 people, just make enough servings for 5-10. I know that NYX provides community meals with its kitchen, so it might be best to bring the ingredients and cook on the premise if your selected dish is served hot/warm. Around Etraya, there are stores with ingredients and stores that have premade goods.
If you would like to contribute, please let us know what you would like to bring so that I and the folks at NYX know how much WE need to cook up to make a well-rounded feast! Or if you can help cook, let us know as well!
Lastly, not attached to any particular event coming up. Now that Etraya's been around for some time, the library is interested in creating a public assistance directory. We do individually have a directory of usernames on our devices, true. But we want to build up a service directory--the equivalent of the telephone Yellow Pages for businesses, to go along with the White Pages of individual's listings.
"Business" is being used loosely, here--Culinary skills, medical skills, monster hunting, mediation, chocobo wrangling, science questions, the list can go on and on. Basically, if you don't mind helping out your fellow Etrayans with a skill you have, please let us know!

This is still a work in progress on the admin side as well, but I will do my best to answer questions.
Now to fix my inbox message and feed some chocobos! Thanks for your attention to this, catch you later!

I look forward to the next book club meeting. I've quite a number of books from our time on Earth and have been interested to know who might be familiar with them.
Regarding cooking, I would offer my assistance. So long as there are instructions, I should be apt to the task.
I shall give thought to which skills would most benefit others. Thank you for your efforts.

» And goes to book clubs.
» And cooks.
» Nope sorry weirder than finding out the gods spar.

But yes, I am one Bahamut. I've heard there are more.

And I can't do the conversation about multiple versions of the Astrals for multiple universes with Bahamut.

[ And he actually has heard of blades Bahamut... ]
For what it may be worth, then, my world suffered the hand of a similar god.

I will make sure there are instructions available--there's bound to be some cookbooks around that recipes could be copied from. As for the appliances... well, I have to see how complex they are, myself, still. Your assistance is very much appreciated.
I know many of us value our independence, but I feel a little bit of organization would be useful. Hopefully this doesn't come across as intrusive.

I brought back a variety of cookbooks from Earth. I'm unfamiliar with the appropriate cuisine for the occasion, but if you would like, I can bring them to you in case they have fitting recipes.
I'm inclined to agree. There may be those who know not where to turn for aid. It does not strike me as intrusive when wholly voluntary.

You're welcome to borrow any books that strike your interest, should you like.
[ What good is a full bookcase full of books
and additional books he couldn't fit onto itif not for reading, after all? ]no subject
Saw you said something about cookbooks too. How are they? Easy to follow?

[ A noble thief with a moral code. That the notion spawned yet more titles with characters of this kind makes it all the more interesting to him.
You have me curious, so I would like to try them.
I've had no difficulties following the instructions thus far, and I've found myself able to prepare more varied dishes than anticipated as a result. I could hardly call myself a culinarian, but it has been straightforward and clear.

For the other thing, if there's anyone interested in camping or anything outdoorsy, I've got some things I could share. I've picked up on a lot over the years and I know some easy medical skills to get someone stable too.
un: tsundoku
I'll make note of those skills! Notwithstanding where we might be placed on missions, a lot of Etraya is still undeveloped. Camping and survival skills may be needed! Please feel free to leave a note on the sign-up page, or if I could have your name, I can make a brief listing on there?

Figured it could help, and I can toss up something that that sign up. You can have the name anyway though. It's Gladio. Good to meet you.

collection. For specific books in particular, you'll have to request them with Aurora's point system.
It's good to make your acquaintance, Gladio. I'm Mayuko. How are you finding Etraya so far?
no subject
Still wrapping my head around the points thing, too, but I'll keep that in mind if I ever think of something.
Not as bad as I thought at first but I've only been here a handful of days and I'm sure that might change. Have you been here long?

Do you run the library?
un: tsundoku
I used to run a smaller library in a larger place like this. Now I just help out.
