Concerning Antigone's warning regarding our real names, it occurs to me that we would benefit from collaborating on this front.

To that end, I wish to open discussion.

For those who have chosen a name, please respond with what you have selected, that we may know what to call you.

For those who have not, you may use this posting to discuss your ideas or invite suggestions from others.

As for myself, I shall be using "Lucien", the name of a character from a novel in my world.

I can assume the form of my Eikon. In my world, those with an Eikon are known as Dominants, and are possessed of a particular element. In my case, light.

The Phoenix, for comparison, bears flame.

Do you use light to... fight?

I do, yes. It is my element.

Sounds interesting. I'd like to see it sometime.

I train atop the apartment building most mornings, and I would not be averse to showing you. We benefit from knowing each others' abilities.

Oh, do you live in the apartments, too?

[oblige]

I do indeed, since my arrival here.

[maellum]

Me, too. And my friends. Have you been here very long?

[oblige]

I've been here since spring. My first mission was Aphaia, so it was that world I saw before this one.

Has your tenure been long?

Not as long as yours. We arrived in the summer. San Francisco was the first mission for me.

Offworld missions in both cases, then. Did you fare well?

[maellum]

Yeah. It was a learning experience. So was the fog, but in... a much worse way. I hope the next mission is kinder to us, regardless of the need for new names.

I hope the same. The fog was dreadful, and we never were told the purpose for that ordeal being inflicted upon us.

It was light a neverending nightmare. At least this next mission can't beat that.

I should certainly hope not. From what I've observed, more taxing missions have fallen between milder ones, though the duration of our impending deployment is unusual.

I'll miss the apartments.

Likewise. I must make arrangements for my flowers.

You have flowers?

[oblige]

I do. They're native to my world. It took me some time to cultivate the right conditions for them.

They must be special for you to go through all the trouble.

[oblige]

The flower that made its way here was a kindness from someone in my world. I know not how it came to be here, yet it was a piece of home. It somehow felt right to nurture its seeds.

Does it have a name?

It is called a wyvern tail.

There are both wild and domesticated varieties.

[maellum]

And what color are these wyvern tails?

[oblige]

The wild blooms are a soft purple and the domesticated variety are white.
