Good day, fellow Etrayans.

Concerning Antigone's warning regarding our real names, it occurs to me that we would benefit from collaborating on this front.

To that end, I wish to open discussion.

For those who have chosen a name, please respond with what you have selected, that we may know what to call you.

For those who have not, you may use this posting to discuss your ideas or invite suggestions from others.

As for myself, I shall be using "Lucien", the name of a character from a novel in my world.

He does appear to take great pride in his name.

I think it best to know her selection in advance. You would worry for her otherwise, would you not?

[ Though Vax believes he could find his sister anywhere, name in hand or not. ]

How go your preparations for the mission, otherwise?

What is there to prepare?

[ Vax's moodiness is seeping through, perhaps. He tries to rein it in. ]

We'll have to see what happens.

I suppose we shall.

It was my aim to determine whether you were presently occupied.

[twin_blade]

[ Did Vax worry him? Vax doesn't want to distract Dion from this important work he's doing in preparation for the mission. ]

I'm fine. You don't have to be concerned.

That I do not have to has yet to stop me.

[ He is going to worry regardless. ]

Though I do not mean to impose.

[twin_blade]

You're not. I'm the one who's imposing.

What you're doing is important.

You would have to try in order to impose, and I've my doubts this is possible.

And you are not unimportant.

[twin_blade]

[ That makes Vax smile a little. ]

Regardless, you should finish what you're doing. I don't know if our training will be needed where we're going, but let's find each other when we get there, just in case.

Ideally, we should not see combat, but at least we are prepared. And I agree with your plan.

In the interim, you do know I can do more than write a list at any given time, surely?

[ Vax chuckles on his end. Right. Plus, his mood has already improved. ]

Very well, then I am not presently occupied. Did you have something in mind?

What say you to a walk? Unless there is something you would prefer.

[ It seems as fine an option as any to him. ]

[twin_blade]

A walk would be nice.

[ He should try to clear his head before the mission starts. ]

[ Walks are a good option for just that, in Dion's view. ]

'Tis a plan then.

I can meet you outside the building.

[ Neither of them needs the stairs, after all. ]

[ action! ]

I'll see you there.

[ Vax gets dressed and opens the door to his balcony. Before he jumps, though, he looks up to see if Dion has already left his apartment or if he's on the way down. ]

[ Dion had the benefit of being dressed already, if only because he hasn't learned to lounge. To that end, he's already landed safely on the street, back straight as he waits there watching something across the way. ]

[ Perhaps Dion could benefit from some more lounge wear, while Vax's apartment could benefit from more.. anything. Why would he want to stay in his apartment anyway when he's got a friend to meet?

A hop over the railing and a flash of gold light has his wings spread quickly so he can drift to the ground with only a few light beats of his wings to announce his arrival. ]

Spot something?

[ Vax noticed Dion's attention was elsewhere as he was on the way down. ]

[ Dion turns when he notices Vax's descent, raising a hand in anticipation of greeting him, but the question comes first. He spares a moment to glance out into the night, then back toward Vax, and shrugs. ]

Merely making up constellations.

[ Nothing of great import, simply passing the time. He points out over the line formed by nearby trees, where stars glimmer in the dark. ]

Those four, for instance. A cat.

[ Said with false authority, like he knows what he's talking about. He manages it, but only just. ]

[ Vax takes a step closer, dropping his wings in favor of his cape as he joins Dion to follow the line from his finger to the spot in the distance. He squints for a few seconds. ]

Oh yeah, clearly. A cat.

[ Nope, he doesn't see it. ]

[ He exhales an amused breath. ]

A jest. I was looking at the stars, though.

[ All this time later, they still remain foreign to him. Chances are it will remain that way. ]

[ Oh, thank the gods. Vax really wasn't sure how he was supposed to get a cat out of four points.

Dion gets a little smirk and then a light punch in the shoulder for his joke. ]

Very funny.

[ His eyes turn to the stars to have another look. ]

Are there constellations for the eikons in your world?

[ It seems as though there would be given how important they are. ]

Oh, yes. For gods as well, though one nation or another may contend they are different.

[ For why would they agree on the stars when they couldn't agree on territory and resources. ]

For my country, however, there is the goddess Greagor.

[ Though the aggressive and at times bloody spread of the Greagorian faith is something with which Dion cannot agree, he believes in the goddess at least. ]

[ After delivering that gentle punch, Vax chuckles softly and places his hand on Dion's back to usher him into walking with him. He knows how engrossed his friend can become when he has the chance to talk about something he, no doubt, learned from a great many books. ]

Does Greagor have a domain like the gods from my world?

[oblige]

[ Dion did go to monasterial school as a boy, after all. His nation being a theocracy, it's no surprise at all he'd have things to say about Greagor.

It also might not be a surprise that he needed that reminder to actually get to the walking part of the proceedings, but he follows along readily enough. ]

I would say they are not so defined as that, and Greagorian belief in the goddess is...singular. [ Oppressively so. ] But it is said she was a great warrior in her time, and reined in unruly dragons by her own strength.

[ Which, of course, is very impressive so far as he's concerned. Dragon goddess. ]
