Welcome to our bi-monthly CHIRPER post!

There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:

• Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
• When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya, or by other characters on behalf of their friends! This includes the Q&A section.
• Characters can either like or dislike others' CHIRPER profiles. These responses are public.
• This is voluntary on an OOC basis; if the character doesn't have a profile completed by themselves or anyone else, nothing shows up for them on CHIRPER.
• For those who do post a top level, profiles are worth 5 extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These 5 extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.

This month there is a special ✨ HOLIDAY SEASON ✨ addition: instead of ✓ or ✕ for like or dislike, it's 🎄 and 🔪. Whatever the character has the most votes for shows up appended to their username on the network for the next month, as in, un: aurora 🎄.

[Now. Nero recognizes on some level that this kid sounds just like a tiny version of himself, angry and trash talking and looking for someone to fight. He also recognizes that he does have some qualms about beating up a child more than half his age.

Thus, he has to be the responsible one here.]

( there's no need to wait, now is there. a place has been named, and damian was close to the clock tower before he had named it as a meeting place. it's close to nova city, but far enough away to prevent anyone in the more densely crowded area from interrupting their fight.

and it's where damian waits, crouched low on the edge of the roof just above the clock itself, cloak pulled down over his head to cover his eyes and bo staff in hand beside him. his utility belt is fully stocked, batarangs at the ready should he need them and grapple gun loaded with a new wire, just in case.

but more importantly, he's got a great view for when nero shows up. )

[Nero arrives fashionably late, decked in his usual gear. Red Queen on his back, Blue Rose on his hip... though truth be told he has absolutely no intention of using either of them in the fight. Red Queen was designed to bisect demons in a gout of fire. Blue Rose, to blow a hole big enough to stick somebody's head through. Neither are for use on humans, no matter how many people tell him they trust his control with them.

Like, especially not on a kid. Fucking hell.

He has his eyes out, looking both high and low on the approach, fully expecting the kid to get the drop on him.]

Little Chicken, was it? You here yet, buddy?

( a gun and a sword is clever. not a combination damian has used in some time, but he recognizes the ingenuity of it quickly enough: the massive sword (weird appearing as it is) is fantastic for close combat scenarios, whereas a gun is significantly easier to keep ammunition on hand for than alternative long range weapons would be.

and he's actually looking, rather than assuming damian is inside, or searching for a place he himself can wait in the shadows. likely because he is late, which loses him several marks by damian's standards.

it would be one thing had he tried to be quiet about his approach, but he's noisy. although given his appearance, that too is unsurprising: nero looks loud. and damian - watches for several more moments.

considers briefly, pulling out his grapple gun and making an attempt to yank selina down off of her rooftop to use her as a momentary distraction. then realizes that if his father is already scolding him over starting this with nero, it's going to be significantly worse if he makes trouble for selina.

so that's out. but what isn't out is waiting for nero to turn his head just enough that damian is out of view even from the corners of his eyes, and leap off the rooftop. it's a long fall for anyone, but damian has the advantage of a cloak that has been designed specifically for falling off of tall buildings - it silently spreads out behind him, hands clutching onto the seams to keep it close to himself in order to lessen the gravitational force of his descent down.

it also helps him fall feet first, bright green boots aimed straight for the back of nero's shoulders with full intent to try and knock him face-down into the ground if his reaction time is slow enough. )

[It's less that he sees Damian swooping in for the dropkick and more that he senses it. The sudden movement. Maybe he even hears the air fluttering around him, the rush of his cape. He's not entirely versed on how his powers work specifically. All that really matters is that they work.

Seemingly too late to move but somehow before Damian can make impact, Nero hurls himself sideways into an ollying sort of dodge as the kid lands right where he'd been standing.]

Whew! Sorry I'm late, champ! Had some adult responsibilities to take care of.

[He keeps moving, backing away from Damian and sizing him up.]

Hey, cool cape! Bet it looked sick for trick or treating.

[Sorry Damian. He's one of these fighters...]

( nero doesn't look, just reacts, and it reminds damian a little of how toph moves - how it's clear she's not visibly observing what's going on around here but recognizes the movement regardless. perhaps it's instinct. enhanced senses. something in the middle of them both, but it's certainly something. even batman would have struggled to have moved out of the way of damian quickly enough, and he is always on the lookout for flying robins.

still, there's nothing for him to land on but the ground, so damian drops onto the spot nero had been occupying moments prior, ducking into a forward roll to help absorb the impact before he's pulling himself upright and - raises his bo, resting it across both shoulders as he tips his head back to look nero over. )

It's a cloak, which you would recognize if you were not such a fatuous troglodyte.

I've got better things to do than memorize fashion vocab.

[Nero stills but keeps his distance, at least 15 feet back, carefully watching Damian. His hands remain off both his sword and his gun, arms slowly crossing over his chest.]

So what's your problem, kiddo? Picking fights with randos online? Do your parents not pay enough attention to you or what?

My name is Robin, not "kiddo".

( he sounds irritated. looks it, too: damian's nose is scrunched up a little, scowl twisting down the corners of his mouth into something unpleasant. he doesn't move toward nero, waiting instead for the boy to move first.

for now anyway. )

You are the one who threatened to, and I quote, ( in a near perfect of nero's voice: ) Practice writing the alphabet on your ass with my boot.

( Unsurprisingly, Selina is nearby. She doesn't bother to hide that she's standing on the rooftop across from the tower, arms folded across her chest, watching. Just observing in the event that she needs to try and diffuse Damian. Or call in someone else to diffuse him. )

You're provoking him regardless of what you would like to call it. But I am also not going to have anyone insinuating he isn't intelligent.

So, watch how you speak to him, boy, or you'll lose that tongue in the process.

I rarely use this form of communication to begin with. But I am more than willing to deliver them in person.

But I am relatively certain he does not require your assistance.

Nero can manage himself just fine, but he is less willing to utilize his abilities against someone like you.

My son tends to make it a point to protect those who typically are unable to protect themselves. Most children would not be capable of the fight you are trying to provoke, let alone think to provoke it in the first place.
