[ The video starts with a boy in a baseball cap, wearing a bright grin and lifting a hand in greeting. An I-come-in-peace kind of greeting. He's in his bedroom, sitting on his unmade bed and while his room isn't messy per se (he hasn't been here long enough to accumulate a mess), there are a few shirts haphazardly draped over the back of his headboard. ]

S'up, Etraya? The name's Junpei Iori! I'm pretty new here. Still getting the lay of the land and all, but uh...

[ He rubs the back of his neck, glancing past the camera for a moment. ]

My birthday's on the 16th. Which I guess is operation day? So I'm thinking of celebrating early. Anyone wanna maybe...hang?

[ God. That feels so pathetic. Like coming on here and pretty much announcing he's a friendless loser. Junpei quickly pivots: ]

Or I guess you could just give some recommendations of good places to check out and party it up? What place has the best food or where can a guy get a good cake...that kinda thing? Yeah, sure. I can probably go find somewhere on my own, but the best reviews are usually word of mouth!

[ Junpei shifts, palms planted on his knees as he leans forward. ]

Sooo, lay it on me, folks. Where would you spend your sweet seventeen in this place?

I can't believe you guys have school too.

[ Getting to be from a fantasy place should automatically exempt someone from having the typical boring high school experience! Junpei shakes his head and appears sympathetic. ]

For coming here though... I dunno. I wasn't exactly chosen and brought to the hospital the way most people come in. I don't even remember how I got to Auriel. I was just there, listening to everything the Fae told me to do. So I thought maybe it'd be like when a faulty product comes through the factory line or something and I might get rejected. But since that didn't happen, I guess the people in charge were charmed by my stunning good looks and charisma and couldn't help but keep me here!

[ Junpei beams. ]

Yanno! Kinda like you!

[ Fabian hums - seeming to agree with Junpei's explanation. Not that he really trusts anything or anyone in charge of this place, but.. well, if anything is going to sway anyone, it's clearly the outright max charisma going all around in this conversation, right?

Wait, why can't you believe we have school? I mean, I understand that I am a natural adventurer and technically would not need it and all, but my parents said that it would be a good place to show off how amazing I am!

I dunno. They never really show people in fantasy movies or manga doing the whole school thing. I thought it'd be like more one-on-one studies. Mages and shit being cooped up in a stuffy library with a Head Mage, learning about herbs and curses and stuff.

[ He chuckles. ]

Buuuut I guess reality's different! And it just makes you and Riz all the more relatable. PLUS having cool adventures....maaaan! All I had was school. And a couple of boss battles that came around every full moon to save the world. But that's it. I wanna have a cool adventure with you guys!

[ Pout, pout, pooooouuuut ]

I mean, most of the boss battles we fought were at school. Against some of our teachers.

[ A normal thing to say, clearly. Or so Fabian seems to say it, since he's saying it in such a chill, nonchalant way. Like it really is just a regular day of school to him..

They just taught us math and history and boring shit. You're school is so much cooler! Teaching you the things that actually MATTER, man.

What, like that you can't trust about half of your teachers? [ At least it sounds like he mostly means that in a joking way.

.. even if that is, technically, what school taught him. But he's presenting it as a joke right now! Haha, fighting your teachers is funny, right? It's fun when they turn out to be villains! ]

But-- nah, you're right. I would not want to sit through a class that's all about numbers. Instead I go to dance class! [ He sounds rather proud of this.. Fabian may even be puffing out his chest a little as he says it. ] But if it's so cool, then why don't you just up and move to our world, huh? You could go to Aguefort's too!
