Greetings fellow Etrayans,

I write to you because I am in need of information or assistance. My horse has arrived, and as I live in the apartments, it is not suitable for her to live with me. What are the appropriate options for housing and caring for a horse here in Etraya?

I know the wild horses that arrived in February run free and are looked after, to some degree, by Aurora's assistants. However, provided access to the right resources, I am perfectly capable of caring for Kai myself and would like to do so.

Communications from people who know about this matter would be appreciated.

Not really. This mission is really casual compared to other ones, so my time is flexible.

[ In the previous realm Mizu occupied, where there was a currency, Mizu made sure Kai ate before she did. She went without many a time, but her horse had everything she needed. She would have been worse off had Vergil not regularly been feeding her. Thankfully, that's not an issue here. ]

The mission struck me as quite different from the previous two I had experienced. I will come over tomorrow mid-morning. I can send you a private message to alert you, rather than merely step onto the farm. If you could send me the location, I would appreciate it.

Yeah, sure.

[He'll send her directions to the edge of the farm's property. It's nice that she isn't being dismissive or condescending to him, so he figures this'll all go pretty smoothly.]

[ Mizu's day starts taking care of Kai. She has more time than she initially expected because the farm, like the ranch and the monastery, is near the apartments. That is an unusual pattern given how large Etraya is, but it's no surprise perhaps given so many people live in the apartments. It allows her time to go on a bit of a run before making her way to the farm as directed.

She slows down as she approaches so as to remain aware of the boundary to the property. There's no point coming here and immediately breaching basic propriety with someone whom it matters to. Mizu is on the early side of mid morning, but she dismounts and fusses a little over Kai. The horse doesn't need it, but as they've been apart some time she accepts it. ]

[Accelerator shows up to the farm early that morning, going through his usual routine of making sure the place hasn't burned down or otherwise been destroyed during the night. He skips over the animals (there are other Etrayans like the Kents who keep an eye on them) and the tunnels (Toph has those covered), so it's mainly the farmhouse, the barn and the land. It takes him a while to get through it all, since he's relying on his crutch. There isn't any point in wasting his battery on something so banal.

Eventually he'll make his way over to the agreed upon spot, seeing the horse in the distance as he approaches. When he arrives he's going to ignore that thing in favour of the person.]

Oh, it's you.

[That person who thought he was a fish thief at the apartments. He gives a shrug and turns away.]

Come on.

[ It is her, and Mizu recognizes the young man as the one she accused of stealing from her. That likely did not improve his opinion of adults, though they didn't end on bad terms. She remembers he also thinks he could kill everyone in Etraya if he so chose. It's a curious thing to put with his hostility toward adults, most of the population. However, he sounded more reasonable by the end of their conversation, and he continues to give her a chance. It may be for the horse's sake, but she'll take it. ]

Good to meet you again. Thank you for meeting me.

[ She won't pretend she wasn't behaving like herself before, but Mizu knows how to be polite. She leads Kai after the young man whose name sounds like an avalanche. ]

[Accelerator waves dismissively. While this isn't exactly what the farm is for and their first conversation wasn't wasn't great (getting accused of something you didn't do never is), he isn't about to be a complete asshole towards someone who just wants to take care of his horse. The apartment would be a really shitty place for it, and Accelerator isn't really familiar with what other options are available in Etraya.]

It's not a fucking problem.

[He's going to lead them further onto the grounds and past the farmhouse, taking his time due to his crutch.]

There aren't stables here, but there's a barn. There's a cow and a goat already living there, but a horse could probably fit.

[ Not great manners, but that's not a problem for Mizu. Checking out the barn and seeing how well it will work for a horse over a stable is. If it will work well, it's worth considering. Her experience with farming is nonexistent. She helped Mikio tame and care for horses before he sold them, so they had stables and were set up for horses specifically. Other animals weren't there.

It's only because she's interacted with farmers about Kai's housing before that she knows what a farm might look like beyond places she's walked past. She's seen cows working before, but she never learned about their care or needs or even spoke with the farmers.

She walks about next to Accelerator at his pace. ]

What do you feed the cow and goat, and how do you get it here?

[ It may differ, but she needs to figure out where to get food wherever Kai stays. ]

[Past the farmhouse is the barn. It's a typical-looking modern building one would expect to see on a small farm, and the goat Mina is poking around out front chewing the grass. Accelerator heads on in.

Inside there are a few stalls for animals, and a loft for storing farming equipment and hay. It's fairly standard stuff.]

I don't take care of them, you'd have to ask the people that do. The bots stock the farm with feed, same as with the restaurants and stores for us.

[Aurora isn't going to let any animals starve.]
