video » un: robin
( generally speaking when robin addresses - anyone else, he doesn't bother with anything other than text. audio can be efficient, but video is overkill.
in this case?
he's visibly sitting at a very nice kitchen counter, nicer than one would find in the apartments, with his boots resting up atop it. on his lap is an upside down helmet, and over the red tunic that's customary for robin is a leather jacket that is obviously several sizes too big for him. not that he seems bothered. quite the opposite: robin looks all too pleased with himself. and while the hand slung around the helmet is wrapped in a green ulnar gutter splint that blends in well with his gloves, the other? is holding onto a handgun with a spoon duct taped to the barrel.
which he is using to eat cereal out of the (plastic lined, with an actual bowl inside of it) hood.
like this is a completely ordinary way to eat cereal and a completely normal way to choose to post to etraya's network. )
There are a significant amount of individuals present who have metahuman abilities, yes? By that I mean anything more than what an average, ordinary human being could accomplish. While I am sure this functions well for you on a daily basis - the missions Aurora assigns to us can cause. . . hiccups in these abilities. Given the pattern that has been established by previous missions, I would estimate that the upcoming one may be more physically and mentally taxing. Often times, these missions do cause abilities to fluctuate and I can't imagine that would be good for anyone who is more accustomed to healing instantaneously or tolerating getting hit by moving busses as if it's nothing.
( a wave of the gun-spoon, before damian shoves it back into the bowl for another bite of cap'n crunch cereal. because it's delicious. )
My point being - regardless of one's starting point, being prepared for anything that may come is essential to not dying here. If you are a metahuman who is accustomed to being able to handle more than others, I would recommend focusing on training yourself to be able to handle anything that may come your way, with or without those abilities. If you have no self-defense training at all, I would get on that.
( another bite, and - oops, is that milk on his face? don't mind him as he uses this very nice leather jacket to wipe it off. )
And if you need assistance, there are several capable individuals here who are used to going up against impossible odds without any metahuman talents who would be willing to help. Red Hood may be a decent starting point.

Help? You started this.
[He's not leaving though]
no subject
( to the actual point behind robin being visible, rather than the whole show. )
I suppose Accelerator did have a point.
no subject
[Jason finally sits down. He'll admit there was another point to Damian's network post, besides pissing him off]
no subject
( jason's sitting, and damian is - safely, out of arm's reach, holding onto the red hood bowl. just in case he decides to lunge for it again. )
no subject
[To say the least]
no subject
( being that jason is the most dramatic person damian has ever met. )
no subject
Yeah, I got my reasons for them. Anyway, stealing my shit aside, it isn't a bad idea for people to be prepared when they can't tap into their powers.
no subject
( voluntelling, but it is for a good cause. damian raises his own splinted hand, wiggling the fingers that aren't trapped by bandages. )
You'd be a better choice than me, stature aside.
no subject
What happened?
no subject
( don't worry about it. anyway - )
I am the superior Robin, but being a better Robin does not necessarily mean I am better for every task.
( todd didn't need to say it for damian to understand what he meant. )
no subject
Gee, thanks.
[He only has a mildly annoyed tone though]
Anyway, yeah. Fine. I'll help. Would hurt to teach some people anyway.
[Even if he was voluntold]
Which B was it?
no subject
( the one whose face is a bruised mess currently, not that he expects todd to know that. )
I'll send people your way as I find them.
no subject
[Because that's has to be why Damian would hit B like that, wouldn't it?]
no subject
( it isn't necessarily a lie, just bending the truth. and not something damian wants to focus on currently, so - )
I'll need you to help train Jonathan. He is young and needs help with his abilities.
no subject
[He hears that sudden topic change but he'll let it go for now. They're lucky they've been talking this long without sniping at each other some more so far]
He wouldn't have had his powers as long as an adult so it shouldn't be as hard.
no subject
( they can mold him a little easier still, work with his growing abilities rather than have to unteach poor habits. )
I'll work with your schedule.
no subject
I'm flexible. You know his capabilities the best. Where do you think he needs the most work on?
no subject
( he's going to take that helmet too.
later. not now. they're busy right now having an important conversation that shouldn't be interrupted with shenanigans. )
And how to effectively throw a punch while not relying on super strength and durability.
no subject
Some Aikido techniques could be a decent start for him. That one's more about redirecting and disarming with minimal damage.
[Since Jon's a Super and all]
no subject
( jon's an intuitive learner, he's certain they can figure out something that works for him with time and attention. and, it'll mean if something does happen soon where his abilities are nonfunctional, he'll have a better chance of getting out of it alright - which is really what it's about. )
no subject
[As much as Damian sometimes annoys him, Jason doesn't really have a trouble trusting his judgement on Jon. They're best friends back home and it appears that bond is repeating itself here as well]
no subject
( damian realizes he, technically, is also a child. but it's different. they all know it's different. )
He'll pick up on it without much issue, I imagine.
