Welcome to our bi-monthly CHIRPER post!

There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:

• Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
• When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya, or by other characters on behalf of their friends! This includes the Q&A section.
• Characters can either like ✅ or dislike ❌ others' CHIRPER profiles. These responses are public.
• This is voluntary on an OOC basis; if the character doesn't have a profile completed by themselves or anyone else, nothing shows up for them on CHIRPER.
• For those who do post a top level, profiles are worth 5 extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These 5 extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.

I don’t know what tv is, but more importantly training to be a medium isn’t a job.

Now you hold on, you just said you were in training. It’s rather dangerous when a student promotes himself unduly. You wouldn’t want a doctor in training to take out your spleen, would you?

I’m dead serious. If I had to hazard a guess on why I don’t know what it is, it’s probably because I’m from a hundred years in the past relative to seemingly everyone else. From context it sounds like a radio, maybe. Or a film? So, what is a tv?

geez. okay, this explains a LOT. you need to discover tv. it'll change your life! surely they have one at the hospital!

A doctor in training would never remove a spleen without supervision, much less alone. Surgery typically requires assistants. Unless he was some poor bastard out on the front lines of a war.

There isn’t. I asked about every bit of machinery here. There are computers, laptops, and monitors. There is nothing called a tv. So, what is it?

it's like... a play! but in a box! that you can watch any time! and lots of different genres! it's incredible.

what do the patients watch?

The patients don’t watch anything. They have to talk to me, and then I watch them.

[it sounds absurd but… maybe that would indeed make someone less restless while recuperating.]

But if they’re unwell enough to be in a hospital, they ought to just sleep.

don't they have off hours when they're recovering? or do you watch all of them all the time???

I can’t watch them all the time. That’s for the orderlies to do. I have to rest sometimes as well.

Have I maligned your trust so greatly already? I apologize. I’m not used to this sort of thing being real.

usually i channel my sis to help nick out when he's really desperate. but i've also had to do it when i've gotten kidnapped or evil spirits have been after me.

There are other relaxing activities. Like reading books or having tea. But none of that goes on at a hospital for me.

well at least you do SOMETHING to relax. tea's pretty nice.

no but she's the one i channel most often. i trust her more than anything.

When I can. It always seems like something’s happening.

So, you’ve been studying to speak with spirits? How long does that take?

like what?

pretty much all my life. and i can do it. i have done it. i just need to become stronger that's all

Just busy, I suppose. Papers to write, people to meet, experiments to conduct, patients to see. We do have a mission here, after all. The one thing you can’t get more of is time, so you must use it wisely.

That’s true enough. I’d been daydreaming about sleeping in. Maybe I’ll close the clinic for a couple days.

There’s islands to explore. I haven’t seen all of it yet. It seems to take a very long time to take the trolley around this place. Have you seen much of it for yourself?

The other doctor is surgeon. He won’t be interested in my duties.

See anything particularly interesting to you? I saw a place called “Snake Island”.

It is indeed the obvious conclusion, but I’m not sure. It would stand to reason, but who hasn’t been to some town or land named for an animal that was only there in memory?

I suppose we could go look.
