Please complete the below survey regarding possible enhancements to our communication devices and network system. I will be working with Aurora to make these upgrades.

I may or may not respond to comments. Thank you.

Edit: Additional features being considered based on feedback that were not in the poll include: (1) ease of use features for those less familiar with technology, (2) Wikipedia or an equivalent, (3) banning specific users from personal posts or communications.

Edit 2: Adding (4) storage and sharing for image, audio and video files, primarily for entertainment or educational purposes and (5) expansion of the library to include digital lending of those materials.

Seems suspicious. Nothing is entirely private unless it's somewhere without cameras or cell signal.

How do we know that she can't bypass any privacy we're capable of establishing? And what of Echo?

[ he doesn't know much about computers, but as far as he can gather, encryption (which, suitably, is derived from a greek word for "hidden") is a lot like warding. useful, but only up to a point. there are always ways around it if you're creative enough. ]

This sounds like her trying to look helpful when she's really not. I doubt any of these will be private from her or whoever else is running this place. But if you're bored, knock yourself out.

[Barnabas does not use the network. Or rather, he keeps an eye on it, but he does not reply to it normally. However, this little poll has caught his attention, and one thing in particular is unfamiliar to him.

also, i didn't vote for social media because none of my favorite celebrities are using it, but if people really want it, then sure...?

I share other people's doubts that we have the ability to have any correspondence that's not under some sort of surveillance, technological or otherwise. But that doesn't mean it's not worth a shot. At some point, we'll find out whether that's the case or not.

I figure this network is all the social media we really need, since we're the only ones who live here? But I wouldn't mind being able to transfer audio files onto our communicators. Maybe we could even share the audiobooks and podcasts we've already got on our stuff from home.

What do all these features mean.

what do the last two even mean? Figured I should ask before I vote. Educate myself before I throw my vote without a care in the world.

I can barely use this thing as it is, why do you want to make it more complicated?

We really got enough people to justify social media?

Do we really need all of these "features" as part of this network system already set up for all of us?

No.

I'm surprised that something that seems this advanced can't already do some of these things.

Will there be support for those who use alternate interfaces. Even virtual keyboards are hard with paws.

There’s no way encryption will hold. but better utility comes in handy. means more options

How can you be sure Aurora cannot access encrypted messages?

i don't disagree that we can't think that anything will be 100% secure or that something encrypted can't end up accessed, but we can still work with aurora and also make alternate options if that makes people feel better. it's always good to look at more options, and we have a lot of time to learn new things that might end up useful for missions... or anything else people want to try and do.

aurora can be fooling us but i don't know if it matters... either way, she gives us access to items and she's willing to accommodate to us. we should take what we can to make things work for us
