And you'd think that would mean we'd know more.

The problem is, the guy who tore the hole in the first place, Professor Haywire? He wasn't a model of scientific collaboration before he died. No one's made much progress figuring it out since.

So I know just enough to give you an existential crisis, but not enough to be helpful. Unfortunately.

I'd never heard of an overcrowding problem, though. That's new.

Yeah. I'd like to have a better understanding of what's actually going on myself. Maybe we got lucky enough to get a theoretical physicist in this batch.

And I didn't say that. I wasn't exactly expecting it would end up relevant to my life. If I had, I'd have probably paid more attention in that class.

But the adjustment was probably easier.

You'll get used to the concept eventually. Might be weird if you meet yourself. Weirder if you meet someone you know from another universe who doesn't know you. But what are the chances of that?

I haven't run into anyone I know.

Although there was the whole incident with our evil twins, but that seems to have cleared itself up.

Our first mission.

They were versions of ourselves from universes where things went worse, or very convincing fakes. We couldn't interact with them ourselves, for whatever reason, so we all had to find someone else to stab our doppelgangers through the heart with special knives before they 1. went on rampages and/or 2. had their personalities bleed over into us.

Interesting first month of saving the universe.

Not that I've heard.

We didn't get a warning either, although it did make the 'getting to know you' group activities make more sense in retrospect.

You think so?

Maybe this month we'll get tested on something slightly less dire. You never know.

Which isn't stressful at all. It's only the world at stake, right? Allegedly.

I guess we'll see.

Anyway. I don't want to take up too much of your time. I hope you get somewhere with this. Keep the rest of us in the loop if you do, yeah?

Appreciate it.
