I have recently discovered that a person I care about is deceased at home. I do not know the circumstances, as I had just spoken to them before I was taken to this place.

because a whole lot of people sure act as if we are all just supposed to be alright with this place
like it is not all that bad

Not that Fabian can blame him, considering he also really hates this place with a passion.. It's just that he sure would have put it in a slightly different way. Perhaps in a little less intense and a little more teen-throwing-a-fit-y way. ]

i mean
i get that there is some nuance to it
when i first settled on land and went to school i also felt slightly iffy about the idea of it
but in practice making friends is way better than in theory
or so i have found

at least when it is with the right people

We did not have schools, so what we had is basically whoever wanted to survive with you. It was not a very pleasant place to think of friendship.

That said, all my friends are from that place.

[ See, normal people would assume Chrollo is from some weird place. Like the jungle or something. But Fabian actually kind of gets it, considering he did grow up on the seas. You don't grow up with a pirate dad and not think survival can kind of bind people together. It's just how it works out there.

So at least Fabian has nothing to comment to that part. But he doesn't ignore the other's question. ]
