un: gorgug, text ( a day into the mission )

Hey. What's everyone found out about the mission?

Do we want to share what jobs we have and if we need anything? I'm working engineering in Sprawl. How are people in Dreg? I heard it's bad?

[ ooc: An info-sharing post, if people would like that! It can be used throughout different points of the mission, and maybe if people have made network posts on their toplevel posts, they can link them in here, w/e w/e! Please feel free to tag inside freely. ]

[The reply came a little late-- Shelley needed to readjust the text sizing on his device and had been using the built in camera to enlarge the view of various documents, et cetera that needed filed without delay.]

I'm some sort of admin in Neon. Things aren't bad but there's not much wiggle room in the schedule for...

Well. Anything.

Please.

When you work alone, everything is admin work.

I'm a private investigator back home.

It's not glamorous, but I can field and share the info I find so the people with better access can put the pieces together.

It sounds like that we're looking for on that front is passwords, PIN numbers, and card keys.

If it's a digital scan, that'll be more tricky. We'll probably need fingerprints or something harder to get a hold of.

I'll keep a look out, then, and let you know if I find something that seems to fit.

Make something?

... How good are you at glasses or firearms?

There's no rush on any of this. I just left my gun with my niece back home, because my glasses are the wrong script. My phone is rigged to assist with reading tasks and the speech to text feature is helpful.

In other words: I'm getting used to a different status effect than I'm used to. It's annoying but I can deal for now.

Invisibility, though?

That's a neat trick.

I'm not sure I trust any of the people running this show enough to ask them for help.

Like I said, I can deal.

What other tricks can you do?

I'm just not happy trusting the people who picked a guy with too much stress and nothing to show for it to play in this lottery.

My niece would have been a better pick.

But enough Paranoid Old Guy Talk.

Automatons sound really handy. Have you thought about building a small one to sneak into places that are harder to get to?

Exactly.

People make mobile cameras that they can control with a remote where I'm from. A tool like that could be really helpful in uncovering a few secrets, especially if it doesn't look too obvious.

Cameras are the most high tech that I go, but if you make yourself look like you belong wherever you're at then no one questions it.

Carrying a clipboard and jotting down notes while frowning can go a long way to getting you access, especially if you're good at acting.

And that's why drones-- the remote control cameras, are handy.

You don't need to sneak your way in, and people don't usually look up.

[Oh... Shelley grinned as he read this.]

Spider is good. People don't like spiders.

I'm not the Mothman, I'm just a fan. My name's Shelley.

I'll reach out when I find something. Or, you could reach out if you want to talk more.
