[ In line with the ongoing events here. More or less. ]

[ Queue a video feed. There was probably a bit of audio, the typical noises of someone figuring out a new system and trying to find the video button. ...Aha! There is Gaia, sitting on one of the trolley cars. Behind her, mostly in frame, is Cidolfus Telemon. He probably looks okay. But Gaia's words suggest he's not. ]

I hope this is right. I'm on the blue line trolley between... the Farway stop and the next island. A man named Cid just jumped on after burning his aether to a life threatening level. Because he missed it while picking up something at a place called the Kwik Stop.

I don't have healing spells, so I'd appreciate anyone that can catch up to the trolley who might come and look him over. It's not exactly fast.

Well, if anyone's looking for him and worried, he's here.

[ She sounds more than a little bit ~~worried~~ exasperated. ]

I'm new here and it does appear we're passing an area called 'Snake Island' that's dangerous. But if there's a way you can get to a stop after that sooner than this trolley gets to the hospital, I'd be grateful.

Though if you know of any options on the way, I'll take them.

[ Sass away. He needs it after scaring the life out of Gaia! ]

[ He is cringing eternally at hearing that. Snake Island? They can go there now? Ughhh. ]

Um, I'll take a look-

[ So he's talking and bringing up the map, and he's regretting making this offer in the first place as he looks at it. Ugh, that's so far away...! ]

It looks like-- if you go to the next stop, I don't know what's there, but, I have a van. I can give you both a ride if you get off? Or I guess I can use the car... [ That might be faster, though he's mumbling that idea to himself. ]

The van's got more space, [ he comes to. ] I can-- I'll get going now, so if you tell me... if you let me know the next stop's okay, I'll head there.

[ He is SO going to sass Cid for this!!! ]

Yes, I think that'll do. Even if we have to wait.

[ And look at it this way, if Cid argues, then Gaia will just point out that a van is probably faster than the trolley system and thus Vander's worry that he'll run out of beer will not come to pass! Or... something.

Of course it means Cid might have to put up with two teens sassing at him but that's a price Gaia's willing to pay. ]

I'll get him off even if I have to throw him off. Just... what is a van? Will it be easy to spot?

I'll show you what it looks like. And can you-- do you have a way to signal where you are when I get close? I can send out something to spot you, I've got a bird. I mean, it might be able to find you anyway...

[ But, Gorgug is moving as he's speaking! Since he's roped himself into this now, but ohhh is he going to sass Cid for this!!

Gaia will get a short clip sent to her however, showing a very amazing piece of technology for five seconds just so she knows what's coming for them. ]

Sure, I can manage that. Besides, we'll be near the trolley stop on Dewpoint. The one right after Snake Island. At the rate we're going, you might even be there first.

[ The trolley isn't exactly fast. Though maybe the van isn't either. ]

Oh! Alright. [ She kindly doesn't speak about the rust and... are those barnacles? ] So it's a wheeled car. I certainly won't be able to miss that.

[ There's a smile, if gorgug is watching her video feed still. ]

I'm Gaia by the way. Thank you for doing this.

[ He's distracted now, but he's sure he can hear her mood through her voice! ]

I'm Gorgug, it's okay. I know him, kind of. We had a mission together-- so I guess I don't want him to pass out in the middle of nowhere.

[ He guesses. But he's at the van now, so he can get it started up, get ready to get driving. ]

I'll talk to you when I get closer? I need to bring up the map, so, I need to focus 'til I get to the right island.

[ He's still getting used to the changes himself. ]

Alright.

[ She isn't sure what is meant as she just arrived, but isn't going to try and figure it out. Easy enough to see there's been recent changes to the map and go from there. ]

Call when you get there and I'll let you know if the trolley's still on the way. Or signal you.

[ And so Gaia leaves Gorgug to that while she organizes things on her in. Something something herding Cid? Well that won't take as much as she's been making it sound at least.

The trolley will eventually roll into the stop with a Gaia, Cid and the rest of Cid's case of beer aboard. ]

[Cid doesn’t fight this, only because… What. What is he going to do otherwise about it? He steps off with his case of beer and a look of bored irritation in his eyes.]

[He watches the trolley leave without them and tries not to tighten his jaw.]

[ Gorgug could have arrived earlier than the pair, in theory, but between trying to figure out a route and bridges to get across the different isles (and also being a decent distance from their stopping point), his van will be an incoming dot coming from... somewhere. Maybe they can see it!

But they do have company. A hoot-hoot sounds from above, and perched on a nearby light currently not in function is a mechanical-looking owl. ...its face definitely not as cool as the linked image, but far more goofy.

Big, goofy eyes watching the pair. There was a plan here, see, where Gorgug thought his mechanical bird could help him find them! And sure, it found the trolley's stopping point. Is it going to do anything else?

Hoot hoot.

Please give Gorgug five minutes, he'll be there...soon... ]

[Cid turns around and shrugs at Gaia.]

Alright, I know when I’ve been had. Thank you, Gaia, but I’ll be walking home now.

[ Gaia is looking around for signs of a bird or a van. Then she sharply turns her attention on Cid. ]

Hey! You agreed to this. Besides, that bird's probably his.

[ Yeah. That bird. Right there! That... is very mechanical. ...Well she is going to not think too much about that. ]

Look, I'm going to throw up a signal. And if they're not here soon, I'll personally take you home. Or at least back to the apartments if I don't know where your home is yet.

[ ...She can do that? All this time? Well good luck getting her to explain it. Meanwhile she raises her arm and sends a small orb of fire up into the air. It's.... certainly orangey in its depths but that's a lot of outline of shadows and purply colors too. She'll also send an audio call back to Gorgug. ]

Are you on your way? Did you see that fire in the sky?

[ Don't mind the bird, it's just here to watch the pair, apparently. As for Gaia's message--a connection comes through: ]

I saw it! Can you see me? I'm five minutes from you-- did that stupid bird find you? Look, I'm coming in the blue van. I'm blue.

[ Driving and talking while you've been bumping along landscapes not built for driving can make you a little flustered (and when you can't stop complaining about your stupid bird). If the pair do look in the distance, they should be able to see a van approaching...!

...and only when it's nearly halfway to them does Gorgug's stupid bird go over to join him, taking a seat on his roof while he drives himself and it to the duo. So useful, much help, bird bot... ]

I can take myself home, you know.

[Cid steps backwards as lighting kicks up around his heels.]

How about this. You can do whatever you want if you two can actually catch me. See how sick and feeble I seem while you’re trailing in my dust.

[Cid balls his fists and widens his stance as he concentrates, unlocking that particular cage within his mind. Lightning aether glows from beneath his skin, his hair goes white, his irises purple. This would typically kill a man where Gaia’s from. His voice is distorted as he speaks. ]

Ta-ra.

[And then he’s gone in a thunderous shockwave, leaving the area around them hopping with ungrounded levin. ]

[ Hey, it worked! And leave that poor bird alone! It's a delight-- ahem. ]

Oh, yes. Both the bird and the van. We're by the sto--

[ Would that much lightning cause a bit of static interference? There's certainly going to be a thunderous BOOM over the audio. Gaia might let out an indelicate noise.

....It's not shock or pain. It's anger. She hasn't closed the channel to Gorgug, so he'll be able to listen in. ]

Oh NO. You... ARGH

[ The hammer is conjured again. Maybe, just maybe Gorgug might catch a glimpse of Gaia at the stop before she vanishes in a puff of what appears to be a cloud of shadows.

But Cid will see her appear from the other end of that along the track. ....The man is leaving a distinct path of aether to follow. He will have to think very fast because Gaia, her features contorted with righteous outrage, is already swinging the ornate hammer up and around.

...And well, one might wonder what that hammer is capable of against a Dominant. But it has shattered a prison eternal ice generated by a similar being. If Cid wants to play this game of proving he's perfectly fine, then by the power of Darkness Gaia is going to give him something to see a healer about.

...At least she's aiming for his chest. ]

[Oh- she wants to play? He doesn’t want to hurt her, but she doesn’t seem defenseless- and she’s starting it.]

[But no; he's not going to strike first this time. She’ll have to be quick if she wants to catch him. He ducks, praying that it’s fast enough to dodge as he jumps to the other track.]

Oh no you don't!

[ 'Play' is probably the furthest thing from Gaia's mind. That would probably have met with a pause when her initial surprise attack failed. Whether she's fed up with Cid or it's instincts honed from sparring with the likes of Popp and Sephiroth on Kamurkia doesn't matter in the moment; she immediately adjusts and follows through.

Mid leap to the track, Cid will find himself contending with the hammer again, angled to knock him out of the sky and groundward. ]

[ You two have fun, Gorgug is just a guy in a van who does not know what the fuck is happening over there. ]

[ Gaia is just trying to make sure Gorgug didn't trek all this way for nothing! Stay tuned! ]

[…Thankfully he’s primed, or that hit would certainly do some real damage. Cid is fast, but he can’t fly in this shape. He lands heavily on the ground, rolling to his feet as he makes a snap decision. He wouldn’t be beat yet. With a hit like that- surely she could contend with this? He stands firm, arm high in the sky and snaps his fingers to call a lightning bolt down at her.]

[And now he’ll try to make a getaway-]

[ Also Gaia left her video feed on so enjoy the FPV there of a furious teenaged girl.

...Who.... lands and braces, raising the hammer as if she were going to...

Which she does. Well, there's a wince and it's clear something gets through as some levin streaks arch over her arms and ground into the track, but there's just the subtlest of shimmers with a near invisible hexagon shield. Don't worry. She's still up.

Cid might make his getaway. But that lightning bolt is not going to go unaddressed. She displayed the skill of a sorcerer before; sending a small amount of darkfire into the sky to signal Gorgug.

Now something far larger and stronger is being called forth in an effort to engulf the man before he's able to retreat out of range. Thankfully she doesn't have enough time to double cast.

Mind the beer though. Don't want to have it go warm. ]

[ Are you ever trying to arrive at a place, and arrive at a scene instead? This is Gorgug, apparently, with his dinky second-hand van just making his away along; seeing a light signal, and then a bunch more of them?

And you know, he doesn't want to get near to them because-- look, his van has gotten plenty fucked as it's been. He's still within proximity of the tracks, his useless owl bird on top, coming to a stop.

...

Gaia will get a call from Gorgug from the earpiece. ] Helllloo?

[ Still alive there? Everything good? ]

[ Gaia's voice crackles back over. ]

I'm fine! Hang on, he's running away because he couldn't wait five minutes!

[ Despite all the signs of damage, she sounds more agitated than under duress. ]

[Cid is just laughing now like this is a big joke. Maybe he has another trick up his sleeve? He’s just on foot, but he is damn fast like this. ]

Okay, I'll just-- park and wait?

[ He is here to be transport, he does not know what is going on and isn't going to jump out unless he's told to. You two have fun?? ]

[Cid really is running isn't he? But given his reaction time he will probably notice the portal open up again. Except rather than Gaia launching herself out with hammer in hand, her arms stick out, about beer case level, to try and purloin it.
