Looking for a mechanic capable of fixing a prosthetic arm, altruistic introverts highly preferred, opportunistic assholes also acceptable.

Age irrelevant, but if you're a child I will comment on it.

[She slips all too easily into Nerd Mode(TM).]

Technically, magic is banned in Piltover. There was a war, a long time ago, that was fought by rival nations wielding powerful magical runes. It decimated entire empires and changed the face of the land itself. After the war ended, our city's founder wanted to create a place dedicated to science and technology, where magic and mages couldn't cause any further destruction. Jayce and Viktor have figured out how to use technology to harness the power of magic, allowing them to create magical effects – like teleportation via the hexgates – without being mages themselves.

Proper magic's quite common in other parts of the world, though. My family originally came to Piltover from Ionia, where the border between our world and the spirit realm is thin. The land itself is said to be infused with magic; there are trees that light up and creatures that sing and dragons thirty metres high. I've always wanted to visit, but I've never had the chance.

If your world hasn't got any of that, what do you have instead? Is medicine the primary profession of the place you're from?

There's quite a lot of mechanical knowledge in Piltover. We're renowned for it. It's no wonder our prosthetics are advanced. I don't know many children who can build bombs—
[That's easy to say, since she doesn't know any children.] —but studies in things like engineering can begin young.

I take it you're a doctor?

Yes, of course. My father's a surgeon.

I enjoy being a detective far more than I would being a surgeon.

Yes.

[Technically, that's a lie. She was fired. But no one here except Sevika and Jayce know that, so she's going to keep lying about it.]

I joined because I wanted to protect the city. Though come to find out, not all of my colleagues share my aspirations, seeing as the Sheriff himself turned out to be in the pocket of a criminal mastermind, and there are reports of corruption well predating his tenure. [Local rookie cop having slow dawning realization that cops might be the baddies, actually.]

I wanted to protect innocent people from anyone, or anything, that might hurt them.

Everything happened very quickly, before I found myself here. I'd only just learned of the Sheriff's corruption.

But I won't leave, no. Some of the others from my world are from my future, and they've told me as much. If I didn't know that things will turn out more poorly than I could anticipate, I'd say that I can change things for the better now that everything's come to light. Even with the knowledge of what the future holds, I'm going to do whatever I can to keep people safe, and I don't see how leaving the force would accomplish that.

Yes. Nearly everyone from my world is at least a day into my future. Some of them are months ahead. Vander was brought here from a point years in my past.
