Is anyone going to explain who the hell dropped in Xavier's Institute but forgot to bring along - what, literally any mutant?
( most people might start with a hello. julian just starts with a finger pointing back at the manor off behind him. )
Or, fine, anyone but Jean. ( because he's only half counting her as is. )

I will not apologize for explaining the truth
as my world knows it.

Apologize to Jay for making it sound like that's what you thought he is
welp guess we're choosing to make things worse
A mere forty seven.
I have seen entire planets lost. Whole regiments of the Astra Militarum. Dozens of my own brothers lost fighting the twisted perversions of nature.
It is no miracle. It is the purpose of the Adeptus Astartes to wreak vengeance upon those who mean us harm. [Which a lot of the time involves mutants.]
and what if I do not

there were millions of us before M-day
after? less than two hundred
Don't, if you don't want to
Just know you'll be making a very, very powerful enemy
no subject
a Lord of Change himself
in the Immaterium
its own ground
And won.
are you more
powerful
than that?
Because if so
I am up for the challenge.

Yes there is such a thing as imperium approved profanity
Time.
Place.
Conditions.
terrible of them really
Now
Bring whatever you want, I'll still kick your ass

you are aware
I have
a ranged weapon. [He's trying to make this somewhat honorable and not snipe you from 1000 yards. ]
Would you like to alter conditions
to unarmed.
or melee only.

( try it, he's got a telekinetic barrier that's around him almost always, he'll take the hit. )
>>? action???? LMK what you want.
YOU will apologize [Gadriel is disoriented in general by this place: but this part he understands. His entire religion is performing violence for the Emperor.]
> action is fine! saves us from another post.
( and he's waiting. julian was already on site, now he's just on-guard too. for those who may be extra perceptive, there's a thin later of green, telekinetic energy around him; layers of it forming barrier after barrier to keep any potential hit from causing damage. he looks angry (because he is), fists balled at his sides and eyes looking towards the trolley station.
given, most people can't fly. and they need to get around somehow. )

[If Gadriel knew the terrain, he'd have come on foot. There's something a bit absurd about sitting on a trolley listening to soft jazz on one's way to demonstrate why it was unwise to tempt the wrath of the Emperor's Angels.
[But he arrives eventually, all 1100 pounds and nearly ten feet of him in full armor. Who knows what his facial expression is, because he is wearing his helmet. ]
This is your last chance to reconsider.

unfortunately for the both of them, that just happens to be jay in this specific instance. there's some complicated feelings around that, given everything that happened with jay, but. that's a problem for him to deal with later.
julian's arms remain crossed over his chest, sneakers down against the pavement of the basketball court. the guy shows up, and julian doesn't need to ask who he is, because he answers for them. he's big, but it's nothing julian hasn't seen before. he's fought blob. the hulk. lifted heavier and bigger.
so he - raises a brow. moves a metal hand using his telekinesis (keeping his arms over his chest, they're not connected) so it's in front of him, middle finger up. )
Why would I do that?
no subject
[You can't do that if your life doesn't suck. ]
Because it would bring sorrow to your friends to watch me kill you.
[He gestures with both hands, empty at the moment, but not for long. ]
You wanted this. I am waiting.

( hell, they've beaten death. if he dies here, he'll just get resurrected back home, and finally, finally have his hands back. death might even be a relief.
except he didn't call the guy here to lose, that'd just be stupid.
instead, he uncrosses his arms, throwing one out wide. it's not a direct attack, but an attack with telekinetic energy that's meant to throw that giant piece of metal up and back into the basketball hoop. )
no subject
[He's withstood psychic attacks before. It didn't mean they didn't hit. He managed to dodge out of the worst of it, the forward wave of it hitting his legs as he dives to the side, tumbling him over.
[But not before he had thrown a combat knife at the very open target. ]
no subject
( a correction, not that it matters much. he looks unguarded, but julian keller rarely is. he's been hit from all angles before, and knows better than to leave himself open to physical attacks regardless of how far away his enemy is. the knife hits the barrier around him, and flings back somewhere behind him.
julian could crush him. it'd be easy. unfortunately, he generally prefers to keep to non-lethal methods of dealing with those he's fighting, and he's not out to actually maim the guy. not yet.
his eyes glow a soft green, but there's no physical movement from julian himself while the basketball hoop's pole bends and drops straight for where the guy's fallen. he's wearing armor, he can take it. )

Please, you don't need to have this fight. You said we're supposed to be allies here, can't you try and learn to be?
[ Because Julian Keller would cut off his own nose to win an argument. ]

Your friend wants to kill people over asking a question, trying to clarify their ignorance. [The Apothecary had told Gadriel that he could not apply his understanding to this place. He was trying. ]
But I will not kill your friend. He may not have honor, but I do.
no subject
[ There's a fine line between angry and steadfast, and Jay has both toes on it. But he stays as polite as he can, leaning a little harder into a drawl helps. ]
And he has honor. That's why he's gonna fight you if you show up.

In my world there are many who call my kind abominations, perversions, monstrosities. [Entire orders of the Sisters of Battle refuse to work with the Astartes. The Mechanicus barely tolerate them, and they were even less human. Normal mortals felt a sense of deep revulsion being in the same room with Gadriel's kind. It did not matter. He was a bulwark of the Empire. He knew his duty.]
I am strong in my faith and purpose. The opinions of the ignorant mean nothing to me.
Why does mine mean so much to you?
