It's going to be my birthday soon. I picked one a few months ago, but I don't know how it works when it's time to celebrate them. I have left everyone 'invitations' on their doors, though.

[And true to the text's word, if people wander out of their cabin or approach it, they'll find a piece of paper taped to the front:]




The letter says the following: I picked May 23rd for my birthday, so I am turning 12 on Friday. I would like to have a party at 3:00 pm around the campfire. I am not sure what people do at birthday parties, but maybe we can sit and eat cake. I like horses, nail polish, breakfasts, stuffed animals, soft-feeling things, books, drawing supplies, snacks, and monster energy drinks. I would like to try make-up things. Like eye shadows. (If someone knows how to bake cakes, I would like to learn.) Gracias, Laura

Happy early birthday!

I know you passed these invitations out to everyone, but is it really okay to come if we haven’t met you yet? I mean, I’d be happy to go, but I don’t want to make you uncomfortable if you’re only expecting close friends or anything.

Also, I’m pretty good at baking, so I’d be happy to teach you!

That is as important as friends, at times when things get very bad.

I would like to learn. I've never made food before.
I did try to make bacon, but it turned black, so it does not count.

That's true! It's important that we're able to work together, at least, which I guess is supposed to be the point of this whole camping thing.

Yeah, I can teach you, no problem! I actually love baking and cooking. I'm better at baking, but I can make all kinds of things.

I wasn't very good at working together with people at first, but I think I am doing better.
Better than some others.

It can be hard to work with others sometimes, especially when so many strangers are just thrown together. And not everyone will get along all the time, but as long as you're trying you'll always find people you'll work well with.

No way! I mean, I don't mind helping of course, but the birthday girl always gets the first slice of her cake! I'll take the second slice though.

Is it easy, to make cakes? I have only seen tiny ones. In a place called a gas station.
