Does anyone know if the fast child-sized squirrels are dewormed? Do we need rabies vaccines? Are there any vets in town?

For those who don't know me, I'm Dr. Robert Romano. As of a few days ago I was the only non-magical medical doctor in Etraya. If that's changed please talk to me, I'm so lonely.

And I'm serious about the fast squirrels, I also got anti-flea treatments for anyone covered in fur.

I don't make it a habit to comment on other people's medical needs in general, doesn't fit in with my image.

[ Speaking of which, is he really disconnected from his home here? Maybe he'll push the limits a tiny bit and see if he hears about it later. ]

People who have animal-like traits are sometimes treated like they are not capable of acting like any other adult due to them, so the suggestion could be taken as rude.

[ He'll see what comes of that in the future, for now though he definitely needs to brush off his own concerns as though he never had them. ]

Fair enough, you've got me there. Don't worry about it, it was just a stray thought I had in my head.

Might be something that comes along from my world then and that's both interesting and disappointing. I guess you're the man to find if I get myself injured.

I don't know how it compares to other worlds, so I can't really say.

Still good to know. I can be difficult to treat, even for people with healing quirks so it's just as good to know someone who can handle first aid at the very least. I know more first aid than most, thanks to my job, but I wouldn't be a replacement for a doctor.

[ Clever, clever. Hawks is impressed. ]

I'm a bird heteromorph. My most notable feature is that I have big wings on my back, they're my quirk.

Yes, but also anyone who has any permanent mutation, it's not always animals in my world. A quirk is a superhuman ability. In my world 80% of people have one, regardless of what it is.

That'll work. What makes me challenging is that I have bird-like bones. I've got a decent healing factor when it comes to my wings, and I probably heal faster than average, but injuries tend to be more serious, because I don't get clean breaks, my bones splinter and shatter.

Lighter than I look, probably. That and my wings are huge. You won't miss them if you see me in person.

It's good to know both sets of people, even healing quirks can't get me healed immediately at home so I would assume something similar here. It definitely helps but while most people can get by with overnight rest after a healing attempt, it takes a few attempts typically to get things all fixed. It's possible my physiology just isn't very well understood since it only applies to me.

They are, in a way. There are often similarities between parents and children, but there's a theory that changes come because each generation has stronger quirk factors than the last, that and more of the population has a quirk to begin with. We're up to 80% now.

A lot of how my quirk works is a reflection of the quirks my parents have, but my physiology is mutation, likely to accommodate that. They didn't have wings or a need to fly, but I do. But once you have heteromorphic traits in your lineage, there's no guarantee the quirk produced would be even related. If I had children, they might have wings, but their quirk could reflect whoever their mother is.

My intern has the head of a raven, so technically he's also a bird person, just one without wings, but his quirk is a companion shadow version of himself which has nothing to do with his traits, which likely means one of his parents is also some kind of a bird person, but I've never met them.

Sometimes people just mutate out of nowhere.

My scientific knowledge is pretty limited, sorry about that. I know quite a bit about different people's quirks, but that's as far as it goes.

It's kind of like a manifestation. He's both Tokoyami and not, he has some measure of sentience and does speak. Mostly he controls Dark Shadow to attack on his behalf, but lately he's taught him to carry him so he can fly too. It is a pretty cool superpower, and he's going to be a great hero when he grows up.
