[He's not used anything like this before. But Vivi decides to give it a try. It seems like it would be important to learn how to do this, to talk to everyone, after all. He just added it to the list of things he is learning and is new to figuring out. Which is a rather long one, given he is only technically a few months old, but still. There's initially something akin to the dark sky, and two blinking....wait, eyes? Before the young mage shifts and tries to adjust things a little as he straightens his large hat.]

Is it....it's working? I think. Um. Hello? My name is Vivi. I'm new here, I guess? I'm still figuring this place out. I don't know if anyone has seen my friends, whether they are around here somewhere?

[Cue him holding up a drawing he did. Vivi isn't sure if it might help. But it can't hurt? He won't know unless he tries to ask? Right? He tilts his head, lowering it for a moment as he puts down the drawing and fidgets a little.]

I was told we were here to prove something. To save our home. But I'm not sure if I should be the one who was chosen. I'm not as brave as Zidane. I'm not important like Gar -- Dagger. There's lots of other black mages. So I'm not sure why me, out of everyone...?

[He's not sure if being here might somehow impact things. His short lifespan, and however long he might have left. Aware that because they had stopped the Mist, there was likely no way to create any more black mages. At least that he was aware of. He's sure that there were plenty of other, better options to bring to prove that their world was deserving enough to be saved. But he tries to shake that train of thought.]

This place is pretty amazing, though. There's so many things here that I haven't seen or done before! It's kind of exciting! Even if it is a little scary, too.


[But at least, regardless of what happens to him, he knows the others are alright. Hopes that Zidane is. Vivi isn't sure what else to say, exactly, so he pauses after a moment before fumbling to turn the feed off.]

[Sonia sees no harm in revealing her familial relations in a dimension far removed from her own. The danger Robotnik presents to them doesn't loom here.]

My brothers, Sonic and Manic. They should each be wearing something like this.

[Gesturing to the medallion around her neck. Then, with rapt attention, she takes in his every word in answer to her question. A mage created... to destroy? Destroy what? But she knows that would be overstepping, to ask him so soon after making his acquaintance. Still, her curiosity burns.]

I see. I had no idea mages could be made like that.

Sonic and Manic? Good. So you aren't alone here.

[At least, not without familiar faces. He's glad of that for her.]

Kuja and the Queen were using the black mages to fight their wars. I'm one of the prototypes, one of the first they made.

[He's not sure if that might mean he gets to live a little longer. He supposes he would find out, sooner or later.]

Oh, I am. [She thinks of the Sonic she's already met here, among others.] Well, sort of. It's just that I've been looking for them since I arrived and...

[And she hasn't had any luck. Sonia simply can't believe Echo would have brought her here without them. Who better to prove the worth of their world than the Sonic Underground?]

Do you still fight for them?

Huh? Oh. No. I'm not fighting for Kuja. I was helping to fight him. To stop him. See, I'm kind of different from most of the others. I fell off the airship and was raised in the swamps by my Grandpa.

[Who was actually taking Vivi in to eat him, but.....he does not know that.....]

I knew Kuja was lying to them. I wanted to help them. But they believed him, trusted him...

Vivi. You said you weren't sure why you were chosen to prove your world's worth. This may be it!

Huh? Because I was trying to stop Kuja? But....it wasn't just me.

[Zidane and the others had been there. It wasn't just Vivi on his own. So he isn't sure if that was it. If so, then it could have been that any or all of them were chosen, not just him.]

None of us fight alone. In time, maybe Echo will decide to bring your friends here to join you. Until then, we can save our worlds together.

You think they might come here too? I know I miss them, but. Maybe them being back home and me being here is best.

[After all. It's Vivi who has the shortest lifespan. The rest have others waiting for them. Things to do. The main one he was concerned for was Zidane. But he supposes he might hopefully find that he was alright once he gets back home. So he assumes, if there is a way here, there is probably a way back if their worlds are saved.]

Who knows? If that's what you believe, maybe Echo has reason to believe the same thing.

Maybe. They all have others. Responsibilities. I don't. So, I guess if one of us were to come. It's probably better that it's me. For however much longer.

[The few months he has left. Vivi figures if he can use them to help save his home, his friends. Then that's worth it. That he can help contribute at least. Do what he can.]

I just hope I'm enough. That I'm able to figure it in time.
