[He's not used anything like this before. But Vivi decides to give it a try. It seems like it would be important to learn how to do this, to talk to everyone, after all. He just added it to the list of things he is learning and is new to figuring out. Which is a rather long one, given he is only technically a few months old, but still. There's initially something akin to the dark sky, and two blinking....wait, eyes? Before the young mage shifts and tries to adjust things a little as he straightens his large hat.]

Is it....it's working? I think. Um. Hello? My name is Vivi. I'm new here, I guess? I'm still figuring this place out. I don't know if anyone has seen my friends, whether they are around here somewhere?

[Cue him holding up a drawing he did. Vivi isn't sure if it might help. But it can't hurt? He won't know unless he tries to ask? Right? He tilts his head, lowering it for a moment as he puts down the drawing and fidgets a little.]

I was told we were here to prove something. To save our home. But I'm not sure if I should be the one who was chosen. I'm not as brave as Zidane. I'm not important like Gar -- Dagger. There's lots of other black mages. So I'm not sure why me, out of everyone...?

[He's not sure if being here might somehow impact things. His short lifespan, and however long he might have left. Aware that because they had stopped the Mist, there was likely no way to create any more black mages. At least that he was aware of. He's sure that there were plenty of other, better options to bring to prove that their world was deserving enough to be saved. But he tries to shake that train of thought.]

This place is pretty amazing, though. There's so many things here that I haven't seen or done before! It's kind of exciting! Even if it is a little scary, too.

[But at least, regardless of what happens to him, he knows the others are alright. Hopes that Zidane is. Vivi isn't sure what else to say, exactly, so he pauses after a moment before fumbling to turn the feed off.]

It is a pretty cool place, isn't it? I understand how you feel though, a little. Out of all the people to pick from my world for this, I wouldn't have picked me probably. I'm not sure why Echo did, but... I'm just doing my best while I'm here!

[She might not be able to see his mouth smile in return, in relief that it was working. But his eyes sort of smile anyway.]

It's.....different. To home. I don't just mean the swamp where I grew up, but. The other places I'd seen, too. But I guess you're right. We just have to focus on what we can do. Do our best. For everyone back home.

[ Even with her better eyesight, over the network it isn't as visible. Still! The little edge of his eyes as they possibly crinkle there is noted. ]

I know it's hard, sometimes, but also all we really can do. Well, it's all I can do. [ Which is a complicated kind of matter. ]

What kind of other places did you see? I traveled a lot, too, but when I first arrived- It was on a spaceship! That was still a new one. And it just kept getting stranger, really.

What kind of places? Oh, we traveled a lot back home. Even to the Lost Continent. But -- eh? A spaceship.....? I've been on airships, but not anything like that?

I guess it wasn't so Lost, in that case, but I imagine that was fun to see. Maybe even full of mystery?

[ While she knows most people's lives aren't like the books, well! A lady can fantasize, can't she? ] A spaceship though! It was up in the stars above Etraya for a bit and the group of arrivals I came with ended up there instead of down here. I always wanted to see space, honestly, so it was kind of a dream come true.

I guess. I think it was just that people didn't usually travel so much as we did. Or at least. As far, I suppose. It's just, I've never seen anything like that. So close to the stars.....it must have been really pretty.

[He can only imagine. He's seen the night sky so many times. But actually being that much closer. It must have been beautiful. Sure, the stars were probably still far away, but at least. Closer.]

It was gorgeous! Well, except for the black hole? That was kind of scary. Everything kind of bending around it [ insert hand gestures and small bwah sound effect for emphasis here ] was neat but also freaky.

As much as I love the idea of traveling the stars, I definitely think I'm better suited to traveling the land.

A black hole? I guess there's a lot I don't know about space. I just know I like looking up at the stars at night.

[Vivi has no actual experience. The closest he has gotten to something like that is using the airships. And even then, they don't fly up that high. So he can only begin to imagine what was really out there.]

It might be neat for a bit, though.

Honestly? That's where it's at, in my opinion. I wouldn't mind someday exploring the stars on my own terms, but for now...

I'm happy to just watch!

I hope you get to experience lots of cool new things here though.

Yeah. I'm sure I will! But I'm also happy just kind of watching, observing at least initially, while I figure things out more.

[If only to see how others do. How they might respond and use things he might not be as familiar with. Vivi is curious, but he also wants to keep himself and others safe, so he wants to know what to do to use things properly.]
