If you think it all goes down the same, you need to experience better wine, mademoiselle. There is a difference, though not as much of one as sommeliers present. I think the sommeliers are insecure about the lack of depth of their product.

The Noir at one of the cafes is passable. They do not charge for it.

Old enough to be madame, actually, even if my palate hasn’t caught up. Perhaps there’s just finer things growing in Paris?

Madame, then. My apologies. I dislike when others assume 'Madame' so I do not do so with others.

[ The assumption of 'Madame', the attempts to woo her into stores with goods for children because she walks the streets of Paris as an. unimpoverished woman over the age of 26... they are all tedious. ]

They would run me out of the streets for saying such, but there truly isn't that much of a difference in the wines. The quality matters, but there is a floor past which the taste is indistinguishable.

I’ve often felt the same. And good or bad taste, it all ends up in the same place in the end. Better judged by the effects, I think.

Have you tried alternating the wine with coffee? As long as you consume the appropriate amount of water, it's quite pleasing.

I would play music with my brother again.

I miss the dogs. Both of my answers are quite banal, I'm afraid.

My brother died in a house fire.

Dogs forgive. They provide a rhythm to the days, and they are always happy to see you. They are tangible and present.

I do not know if there are dogs here. There are cats. Some of them are friendly.

Small comfort, in light of your brother, but perhaps time with a new friend would serve you well.

Animals do not make the demands of people. They allow you your follies and weaknesses. Each animal offers its own presence: Dogs are steadfast and loyal, to provide heart when yours fail. Cats remind you of the world's elegance and, when one chooses you, reaffirms your worth. Turtles are excellent listeners.

Really? I’ve never met a turtle. I didn’t know if they had ears at all.

Their ears aren't like ours; you need to look closely. They're more akin to flaps of skin, but when you talk they can hear you and listen. If they love you, they come out of their shells when they hear your voice. If they feel truly safe, they'll crawl towards you and rub you.

Other than wine. That is assumed.

Oh, plenty. Running, cooking, lovemaking, playing. I like listening to music and looking at the stars. I think I could feel comfort in anything, if I tried hard enough.

I agree movement is comforting, though I was never partial to running for its own sake. It provides a singular avenue of focus.

That's very adaptable of you. You will do well anywhere. That is a gift.

My parents and sister's souls are currently elsewhere - in a Canvas. I am watching over their bodies. I am concerned my absence will leave them vulnerable to those who wish us harm.
