Steady... steady...
[ The feed wobbles and keeps refocusing on Prompto's too close face as he adjusts the stack of books he's pressed into serving as a makeshift tripod. His face is pure concentration: lips pressed thin, eyes squinted, nose twitching every time the video tilts to one side.
Behind him, the apartment is pretty empty: a single couch, cost rack rigged up with hangers to "wear" his chocobo costume, and what's either a pile of random shit or perhaps a coffee table under a pile of random shit.
Prompto steps back until more of him's in frame. He nods to himself - the feed looks good. ]
Okay, now I got it.
[ Cue showtime, and it's like someone flipped the on switch. He gives a little two-finger salute and plasters a grin on his face. ]
Hey, hey, what's up, everybody! It's your boy Prompto here, coming at ya from... the apartment.
[ He spins around, arms wide like he's showing off a luxury suite instead of a greige-walled one-bedroom. The spin ends with him catching his balance and laughing. ]
Okay, I know - I've seen roadside motels with more personality. I keep telling myself it's got potential, but I grew up on that whole minimalist chic thing and thought I could branch out. Open to decorating suggestions, by the way - I-I've never had my own place.
[ He rocks on his heels with his hands behind his back, leaning forward toward the camera. It's so much easier to do this with people in front of him feed off their reactions and adjust, but he doesn't want to hide behind text. ]
Anyway... I've been settlin' in, checking out the neighborhood, figuring out where I can do my usual stuff - got my morning run totally mapped out - but, uh, one small problem.
[ He raises a finger dramatically. ]
I can't find a decent place for target practice. Am I missing it? I might've missed it. There's so much here for so few people... it's cool if there's not a real range - I could paint a target on a tree if I had to, but I'd kinda feel bad for the tree?
[ Prompto sighs as he flops down onto the couch with his arms draped over his knees. ]
So - anybody know a good spot nearby? Nothing fancy - just somewhere I won't accidentally shoot up a trolley or window. Close enough to get to, far enough that the noise isn't going to bother anybody?
Outdoors'd work. Maybe something with a nice view? Photog breaks aren't required,but...
[ He tilts his head like he's considering it seriously, then chuckles. ]
No, yeah, they're required. Everybody's allowed mental breaks.
Drop me your best recs in the comments, yeah? And remember to like, subscribe and follow! Heh. I-I always wanted to say that, and I don't care if we don't have those features.
[ He's run outta steam pretty quick, but he's asked what he wanted. Prom repeats the mock-salute, this time as a sign off. ]
Catch ya next time, when hopefully I'm not shooting Cup Noodles offa my windowsill. I'm kidding!
Prompto out.

Revolvers. I'd rather take more time to reload than have a slide jam or magazine fail. Plus - they pack a bigger punch. I've got pretty good aim - that and bigger rounds kinda helps even out the reloading problem.

You have those here? Sick choice for target practice. I HAD a pair of Peacemakers [Teehee.] but I didn't have them on me when I got here so now I just have my Walther P99s and a couple of grenades. BOOOOO.
There's totes a shooting range here, but I like doing it outside. More freedom, you know? Anyway. Want to go blow shit to pieces?
no subject
[ He brings his hand up into view, so the handgun that he's loosely holding can be seen. As with most fantasy weapons, it's over-the-top in style, and he's careful to tip out the cylinder and show that it's unloaded. Safety first! ]
And, uh, without sounding unhinged, yeah I wanna blow stuff up. For practice. That's kinda why I was asking? So... coupla questions. Where's the range, what are Walther P99s, and where did you get the grenades?
no subject
My P99s? They're semi-automatics. And don't worry about the grenades. I'm not using those here. I'm gonna need a lot more than five before I start throwing those around for fun.

Photos are easy. I could wallpaper the place with photos if I had a printer and enough sticky tack.
What colors you think I could get away? I like blacks and reds and purples - uh maybe not all together, but a pattern'd be sick. I dunno if I could freehand a coerl print.
You know anybody good at art?
no subject
Our rooms are all different colors in our apartment. Green, yellow... do what you want, yeah?
Definitely not me. I could barely manage an even layer of color on the walls.
no subject
Green and yellow can look good together - kinda a classic in nature. Purple and red though - nah, feels like it's fighting too much. I'll pick one or the other to go with black.
And... yeah. Same. It's not my medium. I think I'm about to get as much paint on my hair as on the walls.

As for target practice, what manner of arms do you use? I can recommend a few locations, once I've a sense of what you require.
Video
Wait, how do I tell who's tal - ah.
[ ... maybe he should've tried to hide something. Like his whole damn face and the color draining from it. ]
H-Hey Bahamut.
[ This is 100 times weirder than switching formats. ]
Uh... black, red and purple? Revolvers. I mean - I like the colors black and red and purple, and I mostly u-use revolvers.
no subject
My name is Dion. I prefer it, if that suits you.
[ Mister unflappable himself. He really is just a guy with a dragoon bod. ]
It seems to me that you could paint in those colors if you wish. We may yet go on another mission to a world where housewares are sold, but you can also purchase furnishings from Aurora with points. Concerning locations...
[ Give him a minute, he's a medieval man. He does, however, send a map with recommended locations marked on it shortly after. ]
no subject
Hi Dion.
[ See? So much easier to disassociate. ]
I think it's if it suits you? It's your name, man. I-I can call you whatever you want, and maybe you can answer some questions about why we have to go on a mission to another world - like another another world - to get housewares? I don't need anything crazy! Some warmer blankets and more dishes'd be good. I'm pretty low maintenance.

Decorating? Ah. I guess I could. I'm not sure what I'd do either...What colour I'd want, or what pictures to put up. I usually just go to the park to practice my spells, but I guess if it's something like guns, you'd want something better set up. What's there to subscribe to or follow?
[Oh, they can't here? Vivi tilts his head, confused as his hat shifts with the movement.]
no subject
He'll roll with it until he sees a way to ask about Vivi's everything. ]
Most people go with a color they like, y'know? I know which colors I'm gonna pick between - I just don't know what I'm gonna do with them. I don't want it to be a solid color.
And the pictures - do a collage, man. You don't have to pick - just grab that instant camera and take photos of whatever catches your eye. A friend, a leaf, a cup of coffee. Stick'em up on your wall, boom. And maybe once you get a dozen or so, you can change up what you have hangin' up. It's a photo. I love taking pix, but that's why they're awesome: they don't have to be serious. They don't have to represent you or sum up your entire life in one shot.
Subscribe, like and follow? Total joke. A lotta apps have those kinda features, so everybody can react to what you post.
no subject
[To be fair. He's been here for a while, but he's so used to traveling that it's not something he has considered. But he supposes he should. For something to work on while they are back here every so often in between missions, at least.]
A collage? Oh. It sort of sounds like what Renoir said. To draw by practicing drawing everything. Instead, you are talking about taking lots of these photos.
[Vivi tilts his head at that last, shrugging. There's a lot he doesn't quite understand. This would hardly be the first or the last. He's learned to mostly just roll with it.]
no subject
[ He hasn't been forced onto a mission yet, so he doesn't quite realize how busy it really is here. ]
And you got that, too! No idea who Renoir is, but they sound like my kinda people. Hands-on learnin' by doing. It's the way to go.

Hey Aurora, they asked, key me into whoever's talking on your thing now. But just the voices, you know. None of the...whatever.
god, they fucking regret it.
they put on Pending's voice, because it projects the absolute incredulous befuddlement they feel while tempering the annoyance:] Like what.

I think Vigilante's claimed the range. Y-you got anything more detail on abandoned places? Streets? Signs? It's by that big tree over yonder?
no subject
Uh, not really. I only go to places that are not abandoned. I just know there are some spots that people don't often ping in.
no subject
Guess that's probably smarter. And it means y-you won't be around to see me miss...
