Welcome to our bi-monthly CHIRPER post!

There are a few ways to interact with CHIRPER:

• Characters receive a notification to please fill out the form, which is fully optional. There is a character requirement of two characters per answer field. This is to discourage leaving the spaces blank.
• When forms are not filled out, they can be filled out by the companion bots of Etraya, or by other characters on behalf of their friends! This includes the Q&A section.
• Characters can either like ✅ or dislike ❌ others' CHIRPER profiles. These responses are public.
• This is voluntary on an OOC basis; if the character doesn't have a profile completed by themselves or anyone else, nothing shows up for them on CHIRPER.
• For those who do post a top level, profiles are worth 5 extra points regardless of if they are put up willingly by the character themselves. These 5 extra points do apply to the 25 maximum per month.

We had telephones at home- which were devices kind of similar to these that let people speak over long distances. We also wrote letters and notes.

[Not to mention walkie talkies and things like television, but she knows that some people are coming here from worlds vastly different than her own. It's probably better to start small.]

I have always been fond of writing letters. This seems like merely a truncated version of it.

Telephones sound interesting, but likewise have the problem of requiring speech, and I assume requiring additional recording to hear again.

I do miss the whole production of sitting down to write a letter, sending it, and waiting for a response. Doing it this way can be a lot more convenient, but it's not quite the same.

The telephones we had didn't have a recording and playback function as far as I'm aware, but we did have answering machines which were pretty much made for that exact purpose.

An answering machine? Does that mean the machine answers for you, or... merely recorded the answer? That seems a waste of a record if it's merely a short one.

Kind of? The idea is that you buy one and record a short little greeting, and then set it up so that it activates when you're unable to answer your phone for whatever reason, so that whoever's calling can leave their name and number and sometimes a short message. It's supposed to be a convenient way of keeping track of who calls while also making it easier to connect with someone who might be calling for an important reason.

This is why others have invented this technology, and not I. How clever.
